Modified asphalt mixtures

In recent years, study on asphalt binder that provide strong rutting and cracking resistance is considered of great significance as it can help provide extended pavement life and significant cost savings in pavement construction in Vietnam. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the performance characteristics of Korean modified asphalt binder in hot mix asphalt (HMA) mixture under Vietnam condition.

In this study, the ITFT was used to investigate the fatigue behaviour of selected different types of flexible pavement including one unmodified and two polymer-modified asphalt mixtures. The main aim of this paper is to characterise fatigue behaviour of the selected various asphalt mixtures based on the ITFT test, after which analysis, discussion and conclusion will be included.

The cost of road construction or its repair is among the most concerns for the pavements engineers. Cracking and degradation is common mode of failure in asphalt pavements that occurs due to increasing traffic loads or even environmental conditions.

The aim of this research is to investigate the impact of crumb rubber and Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene (SBS) on rutting potential of porous asphalt mixtures. Optimal binder content of control mix, 5% SBS, and mixtures containing 10%, 15%, and 20% of crumb rubber were determined using Cantabro Loss test.
