Ebook "Spin dynamics in radical pairs" sheds new light on the dynamical behaviour of electron spins in molecules containing two unpaired electrons (i.e. a radical pair). The quantum dynamics of these spins are made complicated by the interaction between the electrons and the many nuclear spins of the molecule; they are intractable using analytical techniques, and a naïve numerical diagonalization is not remotely possible using current computational resources.

We report on the achievement of high-efficiency green, yellow, and red InGaN/AlGaN dot-in-a-wire nanowire light-emitting diodes grown on Si(111) by molecular beam epitaxy. The peak emission wavelengths were altered by varying the growth conditions, including the substrate temperature, and In/ Ga flux ratio.

The molecular mechanism controlling regional specific skin appendage phenotypes is a fundamental question that remains unresolved. We recently identified feather and scale primordium associated genes and with functional studies, proposed five major modules are involved in scale-to-feather conversion and their integration is essential to form today’s feathers. Yet, how the molecular networks are wired and integrated at the genomic level is still unknown.

The whole group was transferred by boat to a floating pontoon located approximately 100m from the bank. The structure was anchored in water about 25-30 m deep. This was the second such platform constructed at Yonki Dam; the first had been vandalised and sunk. The new structure was floated using large sections of sealed PVC piping lashed with wire and rope. Timber slats were fixed on the top to create a walking platform. Experiment cages were about 1m3 and were framed at the top with bamboo and secured to the sides of the pontoons at various locations. The experiment...

Carbon-based nanoparticles and nanostructures, such as carbon nanotubes (CNTs), have drawn great attention in both academia and industry due to their wide potential applica‐ tions. Owing to their well-defined one-dimensional (1D) interior, CNTs serve as desirable materials for encapsulating molecules, such as water [1-4], ionic liquid [5], drug molecules [6], and biomolecules [7].

Nowadays, with over a thousand bacterial genomes sequenced, even greater opportunities have opened for experimental or computational global analysis of metabolism, physiology, and evolution. In particular, the access to comprehensive sets of molecular components (genes, proteins, regulatory signals) is at the basis of the development of novel integrative approaches, aiming at understanding the function of specific sets of these components (operons, regulons, metabolic pathways, protein complexes, etc.) in the context of the whole organism.

A large variety of nano- and microscale structures and devices, as well as NEMS and MEMS (systems integrate structures, devices, and subsystems), have been widely used, and a worldwide market for NEMS and MEMS and their applications will be drastically increased in the near future. The differences in NEMS and MEMS are emphasized, and NEMS are smaller than MEMS. For example, carbon nanotubes (nanostructure) can be used as the molecular wires and sensors in MEMS. Different specifications are imposed on NEMS and MEMS depending upon their applications.
