In this paper, a point-to-point positioning controller based on Active Disturbance Rejection Control (ADRC) is applied to a linear motion actuator using lead ball screw. In the design, the Extended State Observer (ESO) is adopted to the controller structure, and the ADRC is designed which consists of the ESO and the nonlinear PD controller to estimate and compensate the disturbances.

Understanding the tectonic mechanism generated by the earthquakes and faults is possible only if the preseismic, coseismic and postseismic crustal deformation related to the earthquakes is determined properly. By the analysis of continuous GPS (CGPS) coordinate time series, it is possible to estimate the crustal deformation. Besides, accelerometer records at strong motion stations (SMSs) may support the CGPS-based estimates.

Motion blur is the result when the camera shutter remains open for an extended period of time and a relative motion between camera and object occurs. An approach for velocity detection based on motion blurred images has been implemented by the Radon transformation. The motion blur parameters are first estimated from the acquired images by using Radon transformation and then used to detect the speed of the moving object in the scene. Here established a link between the motion blur information of a 2D image and camera manufacturer’s data sheet and its calibration.

Sea level rise for Vietnam East Sea in the 21st century was determined under both RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5 scenarios. Changes in sea level of the Vietnam East Sea due to dynamic and thermosteric processes was estimated using results of different Atmosphere - Ocean General Circulation Model (AOGCMs) under the prescribed method in the IPCC’s Fifth Assessment Report (AR5). Changes in sea level due to ice melting and land water storage was determined using a transfer function for global water balance based on the contribution of each sea level rise contributing component for different regions.

This paper focuses on those structural models with an endogenous default barrier where firms optimally choose a default boundary so as to maximize the equity value. The analysis commences to cover avowedly theoretical frameworks from pioneering works by Black-Scholes (1973) and Merton (1974) on zero-coupon debts to later extensions of those models for a more complex debt structure to include coupon perpetual bonds (Leland, 1994) and of arbitrage maturity or rolledover debts (Leland and Toft, 1996).

In this paper, a spatial saliency-guided motion-compensated deinterlacing method is proposed which accounts for the properties of the Human Visual System (HVS): Our algorithm classifies the field according to its texture and viewer’s region of interest and adapts the motion estimation and compensation, as well as the saliency-guided interpolation to ensure high-quality frame reconstruction.

In this paper, we present a new approach for PPG based heart rate monitoring. We first perform the variational mode decomposition to decompose the PPG signal into multiple modes then eliminate the modes whose frequencies coincides with those from accelerator signals. Finally, the spectral analysis step is applied to estimate the spectrum of the signal and selects the spectral peaks corresponding to heart rate. Experimental results on a public available dataset recorded from 12 subjects during fast running validate the performance of the proposed algorithm.
