Narrative film

The objective of my research is to develop a body of work for exhibition based on an examination of the ways that corporate space, as exemplified by the foyers and conference rooms of contemporary corporate offices, reflect societal anxieties about wealth and power. These works will draw on the history of painting, with particular reference to 17th century Dutch still life painting, as a framework within which to conduct the exploration of contemporary space.

The project “The moment of shooting”: embracing improvisation towards efficiency in the creation of micro-budget interactive short films" aims to experiment with improvisation and micro-budget filmmaking as a creative method to explore choicebased interactive film structures. It explores the relevant design principles and production workflows that help media professionals/ independent filmmakers to more efficiently reproduce content for a choice-based interactive narrative.

This book is primarily intended for film and video students or independent video- and filmmakers who are faced with the necessity of writing a short narrative script. For our purposes, we consider a short film to be one of 30 minutes or less, as films longer than that usually need a secondary, or minor, plot-line to sustain audience interest and, in addition, are much less likely to be eligible for festivals or suitable to be shown as “portfolio” work.
