This paper provides a full disclosure of a pending patent that was filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in March 2020. The proposed patent provides an autonomous solution conducting a procurement process for services and materials. However, the authors believe that there could be some challenges in building APS where AI is possibly immature in certain areas. However, building a prototype could be the first and correct step to have a fully reliable autonomous solution in procurement.

To develop novel, scalable, and valid literacy profiles for identifying limited health literacy patients by harnessing natural language processing. Since health literacy is a potentially remediable explanatory factor in health care disparities, the development of automated health literacy indicators represents a significant accomplishment with broad clinical and population health applications.

Analyze responses to a national request for information (RFI) to uncover gaps in policy, practice, and understanding of veteran suicide to inform federal research strategy. We aligned traditional qualitative methods with natural language processing (NLP) text-mining techniques to analyze 9040 open-ended question responses from 722 respondents to provide results within 3 months.

This project consists on creating an app that helps people with partial or total loss of hearing and deaf people. It is ideally designed to be used in academic environments and classrooms where students with these conditions can carry out their everyday activities with normalcy. Hence, the application enables teacher and student to join a chat room so that the teacher can give a class while the student sees his words reflected in the text of the chat room in the chosen language.

In this work, we present an experimental analysis of a Dialogue System for the automatization of simple telephone services. Starting from the evaluation of a preliminar version of the system we 1 conclude the necessity to desing a robust and flexible system suitable to have to have different dialogue control strategies depending on the characteristics of the user and the performance of the speech recognition module. Experimental results following the PARADISE framework show an important improvement both in terms of task success and dialogue cost for the proposed system. ...

Named Entity Extraction is a mature task in the NLP field that has yielded numerous services gaining popularity in the Semantic Web community for extracting knowledge from web documents. These services are generally organized as pipelines, using dedicated APIs and different taxonomy for extracting, classifying and disambiguating named entities. Integrating one of these services in a particular application requires to implement an appropriate driver. Furthermore, the results of these services are not comparable due to different formats.

This paper presents Folheador, an online service for browsing through Portuguese semantic relations, acquired from different sources. Besides facilitating the exploration of Portuguese lexical knowledge bases, Folheador is connected to services that access Portuguese corpora, which provide authentic examples of the semantic relations in context.

French researchers are required to frequently translate into French the description of their work published in English. At the same time, the need for French people to access articles in English, or to international researchers to access theses or papers in French, is incorrectly resolved via the use of generic translation tools. We propose the demonstration of an end-to-end tool integrated in the HAL open archive for enabling efficient translation for scientific texts.

This paper demonstrates a novel distributed architecture to facilitate the acquisition of Language Resources. We build a factory that automates the stages involved in the acquisition, production, updating and maintenance of these resources. The factory is designed as a platform where functionalities are deployed as web services, which can be combined in complex acquisition chains using workflows. We show a case study, which acquires a Translation Memory for a given pair of languages and a domain using web services for crawling, sentence alignment and conversion to TMX. ...

In this paper, we define a new type of summary for sentiment analysis: a singlesentence summary that consists of a supporting sentence that conveys the overall sentiment of a review as well as a convincing reason for this sentiment. We present a system for extracting supporting sentences from online product reviews, based on a simple and unsupervised method. We design a novel comparative evaluation method for summarization, using a crowdsourcing service.

One of the important observations done during the CLEF 2009 campaign (Ferro and Peters, 2009) related to CLIR was that the usage of Statistical Machine Translation (SMT) systems (eg. Google Translate) for query translation led to important improvements in the cross-lingual retrieval performance (the best CLIR performance increased from ˜55% of the monolingual baseline in 2008 to more than 90% in 2009 for French and German target languages). However, generalpurpose SMT systems are not necessarily adapted for query translation.

We present a web service for natural language parsing, prediction, generation, and translation using grammars in Portable Grammar Format (PGF), the target format of the Grammatical Framework (GF) grammar compiler. The web service implementation is open source, works with any PGF grammar, and with any web server that supports FastCGI. The service exposes a simple interface which makes it possible to use it for interactive natural language web applications. We describe the functionality and interface of the web service, and demonstrate several applications built on top of it. ...

We describe a method for creating a nonEnglish subjectivity lexicon based on an English lexicon, an online translation service and a general purpose thesaurus: Wordnet. We use a PageRank-like algorithm to bootstrap from the translation of the English lexicon and rank the words in the thesaurus by polarity using the network of lexical relations in Wordnet. We apply our method to the Dutch language. The best results are achieved when using synonymy and antonymy relations only, and ranking positive and negative words simultaneously. Our method achieves an accuracy of 0.

The system is Collaborative with free interaction and not guided. Users can ask any question to the system, when and how they want to, using their own everyday words and phrases, just as if they were talking to another person. AGORA it's been used successfully in a wide range of information services in which customers have been able to communicate with a presential or remote machine monitored by this system. Moreover AGORA has the possibility of incorporating new services since it's a platform of association, composed by a Kernel and an increasing amount of modules or subdialogues. ...

Each protein has a specific behavior and many parameters can vary (Stevens 2000). Protein'eXpert 1 has developed an expertise to determine optimal production conditions for recombinant proteins, and it provides several products and services in this field. One of these services is called the feasibility study which is a complete and standardized protein production study including cloning, expression and solubility tests, cell fractionation, purification, refolding assay (when necessary), quality control and delivery of 1-10 mg of soluble proteins. ...

Progress on natural language interfaces can perhaps be stimulated or directed by imagining the ideal natural language system of the future. What features (or even design philosophies) should such a system have in order to become an integral part of our work environments? What scaled-down versions of these features might be possible in the near future in "simple service systems" [2]? These issues can be broken down into the following four questions: i.
