The ‘Ephemeral Laboratory’ seeks to create a methodology for myself and other practitioners working within the field of ephemeral architecture. It tests the proposition that a robust armature can be developed to act as a common methodological device in the design, curation and orchestration of a diverse range of temporal engagements with participants and other practitioners within a variety of public realms.

This research provides an analysis of the disparate notions and ideas, to form an overview of the possible trends in residential property for the Victorian coastal areas of the Surf Coast and the Bellarine Peninsula. It examines the interaction of the consumers, space producers and infrastructure providers as they are influenced by the three key determinants of the market, the demographic factors, economic conditions and statutory factors.

This dissertation has been developed to understand how coworkers construct their identity within the Hive. With literature supporting the notion of identity construction such as identity struggle, organizational identification, identification of optimal balances between self and professional identities within traditional bureaucratic organizations, the aim of this dissertation seeks to determine how identity work is being constructed within a coworking space in a single case study.

This research is based on the hypothesis that applying building industry’s best practice initiatives can enable sustainability within the built environment and the notion that effective and sustainable built outcomes are essential aspects in ensuring the long-term viability of the building industry and the built environment. This research explores this hypothesis and notion through two broad aims.

Research in the field of English language education has shifted towards interrogating the real role of English in development across disciplines and countries. Vietnam English language policy, especially the National Foreign Languages Project (The NFL Project), have promoted English as a key success factor for Vietnamese students in the labour market as well as the well-being of the nation. This paper focuses on examining the notion of development which investigates the roles of English in Vietnamese tertiary students’ employability.

Towards an Agent Oriented approach to Software Engineering describes a methodology for agent oriented software engineering, called tropos. Tropos is based on three key ideas. First, the notion of agent and all the re lated mentalistic notions (for instance: goals and plans) are used in all phases of software development, from the early analysis down to the actual implementation.

The theory of polyhedral surfaces and, more generally, the field of discrete differential geometry are presently emerging on the border of differential and discrete geometry. Whereas classical differential geometry investigates smooth geometric shapes (such as surfaces), and discrete geometry studies geometric shapes with a finite number of elements (polyhedra), the theory of polyhedral surfaces aims at a development of discrete equivalents of the geometric notions and methods of surface theory. The latter appears then as a limit of the refinement of the discretization. ...

THERMODYNAMIC MODELING, ENERGY EQUIPARTITION, AND NONCONSERVATION OF ENTROPY FOR DISCRETE-TIME DYNAMICAL SYSTEMS WASSIM M. HADDAD, QING HUI, SERGEY G. NERSESOV, AND VIJAYSEKHAR CHELLABOINA Received 19 November 2004 We develop thermodynamic models for discrete-time large-scale dynamical systems. Specifically, using compartmental dynamical system theory, we develop energy flow models possessing energy conservation, energy equipartition, temperature equipartition, and entropy nonconservation principles for discrete-time, large-scale dynamical systems.

VECTOR DISSIPATIVITY THEORY FOR DISCRETE-TIME LARGE-SCALE NONLINEAR DYNAMICAL SYSTEMS WASSIM M. HADDAD, QING HUI, VIJAYSEKHAR CHELLABOINA, AND SERGEY NERSESOV Received 15 October 2003 In analyzing large-scale systems, it is often desirable to treat the overall system as a collection of interconnected subsystems. Solution properties of the large-scale system are then deduced from the solution properties of the individual subsystems and the nature of the system interconnections.

Sources of Evidence: Clinical Trials and Registries The notion of learning from observation of patients is as old as medicine itself. Over the last 50 years, our understanding of how best to turn raw observation into useful evidence has evolved considerably. Case reports, personal anecdotal experience, and small single-center case series are now recognized as having severe limitations to validity and have no role in formulating modern standards of practice. The major tools used to develop reliable evidence consist of the randomized clinical trial and the large observational registry.
