The magnitude of phenotypic coefficient of variation was found greater than the corresponding genotypic coefficient of variation for all the characters indicating the importance of environment in expression of characters.

For present study experimental material consisted of 25 elite genotypes of ajwain. Observation was recorded on 11 quantitative traits in ajwain. High estimates of heritability (broad sense) were obtained for oil content and seeds per umbelet. The magnitude of PCV as expected was greater than the corresponding GCV for all the characters indicating importance of environment in expression of characters.

A biosensor is a sensing device comprised of a combination of a specific biological element and a transducer. Microbial biosensor is an analytical device which integrates microorganisms with a physical transducer to generate a measurable signal proportional to the concentration of analytes. Use of antibiotics as a therapeutic measure is the most used method for the treatment of infectious diseases including in fisheries and aquaculture. The successful use of any antibiotic in aquaculture is compromised due to the emergence of antimicrobial resistance in bacteria. Bacteria may be intrinsically resistant to different antimicrobial agents or they may acquire resistance through horizontal gene transfer. A number of biochemical and physiological mechanisms are responsible for the development of this resistance.

Genetic variability and character association for grain yield and its component traits were studied in a set of 90 rice genotypes under rainfed direct seeded condition of Assam. Highest genotypic coefficient of variation was observed for panicle weight, followed by number of primary branches per plant, number of secondary branches per plant and grain yield. Heritability in broad sense was highest for grain weight followed by days to flowering and plant height. High magnitude of heritability, however, was observed for all the traits under study.

Udham Singh Nagar is one of major rice producing area of Uttarakhand state, and it falls in Tarai region. In the present study, analysis of geomorphometric characteristics of osman sagar and Himayat sagar catchment was carried out using remote sensing and GIS and the drainage networks of the both the catchment were generated using SRTM DEM (90 m resolutions). Two adjacent catchments, Himayath sagar and Osman sagar, located Rangareddy district of Telangana state, India were selected for study. Morphometric features and drainage network of Himayath sagar and Osman sagar catchments were extracted from DEM using ArcGIS software.

The one hundred and seventy advanced homozygous lines were undertaken for estimates of mutual correlations vis-a-vis path analysis for grain yield with ten morphological traits Coefficient of variation being in the range of 1.40- 8.34 indicated adequacy of material and the traits studied for further estimation of genetic variability parameters. Mean squares due to genotypes were highly significant for all the characters observed, indicating the presence of adequate genetic variability for all the character studied.

A study was undertaken to determine the extent of genetic variability for seed yield and ten other quantitative characters and two qualitative characters in 45 genotypes of Niger. The analysis of variance revealed significant differences among genotypes for all the characters. High genotypic coefficient and phenotypic coefficient of variation was recorded for number of secondary branches per plant followed by number of capitula per plant, 1000 seed weight, seed yield per plant, number of seed per capitula and number of primary branches per plant, days to 50% flowering.

An experiment was conducted to estimate genetic variability, heritability and genetic advance expressed as per cent of mean in F2 population of two crosses viz., DCS-47-1 × PL-1 and DCS-47-1 × PGCP-12 in cowpea. Analysis of variance revealed significant differences among the segregants tested for all the sixteen characters. High PCV and GVC were observed for number of secondary branches per plant, leaf to stem ratio, number of pods per plant, green fodder yield per plant, green fodder yield per metre row length and stover yield per plant in both the populations.

Twenty six genotypes of cluster bean [Cyamopsis tetragonoloba (L.) Taub] were evaluated to estimate variability, broad sense heritability and genetic advance for pod yield and related attributes, during Rabi 2017. High estimates of GCV and PCV were recorded for number of branches per plant, plant spread at final harvest, fresh pod yield per plant, pod yield per plot, pod yield per hectare, number of pods per cluster, TSS and protein.

An experiment was conducted during kharif 2017-18 to generate information on yield and yield contributing traits in elite genotypes of sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.). The present investigation was undertaken to study the genetic variability for cane yield (t/ha), commercial cane sugar (t/ha), sucrose % in juice, brix % in juice, CCS % in juice, number of millable canes (0,000 / ha), stalk length (m), stalk diameter (cm) and single cane weight (Kg) at harvesting stage. The significant differences were observed for all the traits studied.
