Calculating intra-aneurysm flow uses optical flow with computational fluid dynamics simulation on the numerical analysis. This is a new method to better understand the intravascular flow and aneurysm flow as well as factors related to the inflow vortex and the inflow jet which increase the rupture risk in patients with an aneurysm.

In this study, the mechanism of enthalpy extraction improvement has been confirmed by the two-dimensional numerical calculation. As a result, by increasing the channel cross-sectional area ratio of the disk MHD generator, the increase of static pressure and the velocity deceleration can be suppressed due to the Lorentz force, and it is possible to maintain a high flow velocity and a high Hall parameterinside the channel.

In order to better evaluate the applicability of the inverse analysis method for calculation and evaluation of hydraulic properties of unsaturated soil in more realistic conditions, a transient one – step outflow experiment for layered sands was applied in the desaturation process with the purpose to attain the profiles of suction, saturation and flow rate with time. In this study, the fine sand and medium sand were used with the same thickness of 40cm for each layer.

This self-enlargement of the crack is called “self-wastage phenomena.” A stepwise numerical evaluation model of the self-wastage phenomena was devised using a computational code of multicomponent multiphase flow involving a sodium ewater chemical reaction: sodiumwater reaction analysis physics of interdisciplinary multiphase flow (SERAPHIM). The temperature of gas mixture and the concentration of NaOH at the surface of the tube wall are obtained by a numerical calculation using SERAPHIM. Averaged thermophysical properties are used to assess the local wastage depth at the tube surface.

The aim of this work is to simulate the thermohydraulic consequences of a main steam line break and to compare the obtained results with Rossendorf Coolant Mixing Model (ROCOM) 1.1 experimental results. The objective is to utilize data from steady-state mixing experiments and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) calculations to determine the flow distribution and the effect of thermal mixing phenomena in the primary loops for the improvement of normal operation conditions and structural integrity assessment of pressurized water reactors.

One of the important requirements for GAMMA+ and AGREE is an accurate modeling capability of a bypass flow in a prismatic core. Recently, a series of air experiments were performed at Seoul National University (SNU) in order to understand bypass flow behavior and generate an experimental database for the validation of computer codes. The main objective of the present work is to validate the GAMMA+ and AGREE codes using the experimental data published by SNU.

The immersed boundary method (IBM) is used for the simulations of the two-dimensional cases. The calculations are carried out on a Eulerian-Lagrangian grid using the finite difference method. The simulations are performed using two Reynolds numbers 100 and 200. The streamline and vorticity contours of the flow around the cylinders and force time histories are presented.

The algorithm is based on a double loop iterative procedure and shooting method. The two-phase fiow calculation for pressure Used in the algorithm is baSed on improved methods of Beggs and Brills, Orkiuewski or Hagedorn and Brown. The numerical implementation for an example is presented to assure the applicability of proposed algorithm.

A problem of motion of suspension in t he gap between two rotating vertically coaxial cylinders was established and stationary case of the problem was numerically investigated. A comparison between the numerical prediction of particle concentration and the experimental data of Phillipset al (1992) was made.

This computational method allows solving inviscid problems for wings with thickness profile. The experimental and numerical results are compared to each other to verify the built program that permits to extend the range of applications with the variation of wing profiles, wing planforms, and incidence angles.

The studies also show that maximum Mach number in the local supersonic region is not a unique factor influencing the separation, and the separation in transonic flows can occur at the incidence of 0o . For the calculation of viscous transonic flows, we use Fluent software with serious treatment of application operation based on the physical nature of phenomenon and the technique of numerical treatment. For the calculation of invicid transonic flows, we built a code solving the full potential equation with verification for accuracy.

The paper is dedicated to researching a numerical model for dam-break simulation, which is verified through a comparison between calculated results and observed data of two reference tests. The numerical model is applied to simulate the flooding wave for the Malpasset dam-break event, which occurred in southern France in 1959.

Computational fluid dynamics, usually abbreviated as CFD, is a branch of fluid mechanics that uses numerical methods and algorithms to solve and analyze problems that involve fluid flows. Computers are used to perform the calculations required to simulate the interaction of liquids and gases with surfaces defined by boundary conditions. With high-speed supercomputers, better solutions can be achieved. Ongoing research yields software that improves the accuracy and speed of complex simulation scenarios such as transonic or turbulent flows.

Power flow solutions are needed in both for planning and operation studies. Power flow studies for three phases balanced power system can be carried out using very efficient methods. Power flow analysis for certain type of power system network can be carried on by using several software that already been develop without manual calculation on this time. One of the software is MATLAB with its toolbox: Power System Analysis Toolbox. This software also uses numerical methods to do power flow analysis like Newton-Raphson and its modified form, Fast Decoupled Method.
