Runoff reduction is the goal of soil and water conservation in agricultural watersheds. Through the runoff, many substances of soil such as sediment, nutrients have been eroded to end up in streams, rivers, and lakes. In decades, studies have revealed various mitigation, including structure and non–structure conservation ranging from field scale to watershed scale.

The nutrient pollution index showed moderate to very high pollution while the waterbodies will pose very high non-carcinogenic health risks to users via the oral pathway. Overall, the waterbodies are at risk of eutrophication and efforts should be put in place to reduce anthropogenic activities around the area and thus input of nutrients in these water bodies.

The oil absorption capacity decreased with blending. Other functional properties such as Water absorption capacity, Bulk density, swelling index, loaf height, and loaf volume increased as blends ration increases. Sensory characteristic reflected a down turn progression as blending was increased. Increase in cashew nut flour led to increase in chemical and functional quality values of the bread samples hence cheap bio functional ingredient which could also alleviate hidden hunger in rural populations with supplies of macro and micro nutrients.

The aim of this study was to verify the effects of application of H2O2 on salt tolerance and oil production in basil cv. ‘Gennaro de Menta’ grown in a hydroponic system. Seedlings were subjected to 3 levels of H2O2 (0, 1, and 1000 μM) in a nutrient solution during 2 different exposure periods (24 and 48 h) and 2 levels of NaCl (0 and 80 mM). The plants were harvested at preflowering (at 15 days) and postflowering (at 25 days). At 25 days, the application of 1 μM H2O2 /48 h and its reapplication at preflowering increased leaf dry mass production compared to the other salt treatments.

A field experiment conducted during 2014-15 and 2015-16 at Crop Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, Naini Agricultural Institute, SHUATS, Prayagraj (U.P.); to evaluate the productivity and profitability of wheat as influenced by planting methods and nutrient resources eastern Uttar Pradesh. Data revealed that planting methods; system of wheat intensification (SWI) found significantly higher plant height, plant dry weight, leaf area index, grains/spike, 1000-grain weight, grain yield, straw yield and economics of wheat over to FIRBS and conventional method of planting.

The Knowledge of spatial-variability is critical for site specific nutrient management in soil fertility. Soil sample (149) were gotten from surface from 10 selected sites for preparing precise digital maps using point, line and polygon tools of the GIS (TNTmips 2010) software. Soil spatial variability typically defines variation in soil properties in surface soil such as fertility, pH, EC, soil organic carbon (OC), free CaCO3, mineralizable N,P2O5, K2O and S.

This study was undertaken in 2016- 2017 by Division of Soil Science and Agri. Chemistry, Ratnai College of Agriculture, Akluj, India. In this module of experiential learning students collected 101 soil samples from Malshiras tahsil and analysed physico-chemical and chemical properties of different soils. In physico-chemical analysis average pH 7.86 which is slightly alkaline in reaction, EC-0.544dS/m which safe in soluble salt concentration, O.C-0.47 % is low to medium and CaCO3- 4.15% which indicates calcareous condition.

A laboratory experiment was carried out to evaluate 26 groundnut genotypes for salt tolerance as well as to assess physiological basis for salt tolerance. Twenty seeds of each genotype were allowed to germinate for 72 hours at 28±1oC and then transferred to plastic beakers containing neutral sand. 7 days old seedlings were then subjected to different treatments viz. Control (plants receiving Hoagland nutrient solution adjusted to pH 6.3) and Salinity treatment (plants receiving Hoagland nutrient solution plus 200 mM NaCl adjusted to pH 6.3).

Field experiments were conducted during 2010-12 at Regional Research Station, Virudhachalam to find out the residual effect of fly ash, farm yard manure and fertilizers applied to groundnut on growth parameters, nutrient uptake, yield of sesame and post-harvest soil available nutrients. The Neyveli Lignite Corporation fly ash contained higher amount of Ca, Mg, S and Si, moderate amount of P, K and B. Application of fly ash @ 40 t/ha significantly increased growth parameters, yield attributes, seed yield and harvest index of sesame.
