The investigation was under taken during kharif and rabi season 2017-18 at Shaheed Gundadhur College of Agriculture and Research Station, Jagdalpur (Chhattisgarh). The pot experiment, during kharif season with transplanted rice, was laid out under Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three replications and 11 treatments comprised with keeping one treatment of application of all nutrients (N, P, K, S, Ca, Mg, Cu, Zn, B, and Mo) in optimum level and other treatments were formulated by sequentially omitting each nutrient from all nutrients applied.

Two pot experiment was conducted at Instructional Farm of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Raigarh (C.G.) during Kharif season, 2015 for identification of yield limiting nutrients through crop response in Vertisol and Inceptisol of Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh with rice (MTU-1010) as test crop. The experiments were laid out in Completely Randomized Design with 11 treatments and 3 replications. Yield attributing characters viz. effective tillers, filled grains panicle-1 and grain and straw yields of rice in both soil types were significantly influenced by nutrient omission treatments.

The present experiment was conducted during kharif-2016 at ARS, Dhadesugur with ten treatments and three replications. Results revealed that the significant higher grain and straw yield were recorded with nutrients applied through SSNM approach (7,358 and 10,674 kg ha-1 , respectively) as compare to other treatments. Further, omission of major nutrients has resulted in yield loss of 56 per cent (-N), 16.5 per cent (-P) and 20 per cent (-K) compared to SSNM treatment. Application of fertilizers as per SSNM approach noticed higher nitrogen and phosphorus use efficiency (94.05 and 49.

A three year field experiment was conducted during the rainy season of 2014, 2015 and 2016 at farmer field in 66 locations (07 districts) of Bihar. The soil was sandy loam in texture and medium in organic carbon. The study was conducted to assess the important major nutrient for soybean crop through omission. The experiment comprised of 4 treatments, viz., T1 (100 % NPK), T2 (100 % PK, N omission), T3 (100 % NK, P omission), T4 (100 % NP, K omission).

A field experiment was conducted at Agricultural Research Station (MPUAT), Banswara (Rajasthan), India to assess the validation of SSNM practice in maize– wheat cropping system under sub-humid condition of southern Rajasthan. The experiment comprised seven treatments of absolute control (No nutrient), RDF-state, RDF-national, SSNM, SSNM-N, SSNM-P and SSNM-K. Treatments were applied in randomized block design with three replication at fixed site for both crops during both the years.
