Nutrient uptake in rice crop
-
Microorganisms in the rhizosphere soil play a key role in maintaining the soil fertility, which is a key for successful crop production to meet the increasing global food demand. The aims of this study were to boost growth attributes, yield and nutrient uptake of rice by different treatment combination of plant growth promoting bacteria (PGPB) and NPK fertilizer doses.

Interaction between soil microbes and minerals play a major role in environmental cycling processes, which leads to the mobilization of nutrients from soil components into available forms for biological uptake which enhances crop growth and yield. In the present study four (4) potassium solubilizing bacteria (KSB), eight (8) zinc solubilizing bacteria (ZnSB) and two (2) zinc solubilizing fungi (ZnSF) isolated from Rice, Maize, Cotton and Sorghum rhizosphere soil collected from Student and College farm Rajendranagar PJTSAU Hyderabad.

The field experiment was conducted at Agronomy Research Farm of SKUAST-K during Kharif season 2014 and 2015. Three N levels (N1: 120, N2: 150, N3: 180 kg/ha) and four Si applications (Si0: Control, Si1: 5%, Si2: 10% and Si3:15%) were applied to the rice crop. Number of tillers m-2 and relative growth rate were significantly highest with 180kgN ha-1 from 30-45DAT but from 60DAT upto harvest, these growth parameters were significantly highest with 120kgN ha-1 . However, number of tillers m-2 and relative growth rate were significantly highest with 15%Si.

A field experiment was conducted to study the on farm crop response to plant nutrients in pre dominant cropping system i.e. rice, (Oryza sativa) - chickpea (Cicer arietinum) and their impact on productivity, soil fertility and economics at Kabirdham district of Chhattisgarh state during 2013-14 and 2014-15. The results revealed that application of 100 kg N, 60 kg P2O5, 40 kg K2O and 20 kg ZnSO4 /ha to rice and 20 kg N, 50 kg P2O5, 20 kg K2O /ha to chickpea recorded significantly higher grain and straw/ haulm yields. Rice equivalent yield (87.

Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is one of the most important staple food crops worldwide. Nitrogen (N) is the most important nutrient in irrigated rice cultivation. Current high yields of irrigated rice are often associated with applications of higher doses of fertilizer N, as nearly 30-40 percent of applied nitrogen is actually utilized by the crop; even with the best agronomic practices. It has always been a problem to raise the utilization rate of the rice plant and to increase efficiency of absorbed nitrogen for grain production.

Two pot experiment was conducted at Instructional Farm of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Raigarh (C.G.) during Kharif season, 2015 for identification of yield limiting nutrients through crop response in Vertisol and Inceptisol of Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh with rice (MTU-1010) as test crop. The experiments were laid out in Completely Randomized Design with 11 treatments and 3 replications. Yield attributing characters viz. effective tillers, filled grains panicle-1 and grain and straw yields of rice in both soil types were significantly influenced by nutrient omission treatments.

A field experiment was conducted to assess the effect of seeding methods and weed management practices on yield of aerobic rice and nutrient removal by the weeds under direct seeded aerobic rice. Among the seeding methods line sowing increased the grain yield than the broadcasting method. Among weed management all the weed management practices were found to be equally effective in reducing the uptake of nutrient by weeds and producing higher grain yield as compare to weedy check. However maximum yield was obtained with the application of Pretilachlor 0.

Vermicompost scheduling on nutrient uptake at different growth stages of rice crop were assessed at two field experiments conducted during 2011-12 and 2012-13 in the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut. Different levels of vermicompost along with nitrogen (N) were included in the study. Initially higher nutrient availability in soil in these treatments responded well to plant growth and plant nutrient contents and a significant variation in dry matter accumulation and plant nutrient contents was noticed.
