The paper "Applying machine learning algorithms to classify forest cover type from sentinel 2 MSI data" presents the results of forest cover classification in Dak Lak province from Sentinel 2 optical satellite image data using machine learning techniques. Sentinel 2 MSI images taken in November 2015 and December 2020 are used to classify forest cover objects and then evaluate forest cover changes in the period 2015-2020.

In addition, Climate change causes sea level rise, thereby increasing the existing water level along with that in large rivers and also causing storm surge, which coincides with the time of flood discharge at Dau Tieng and Tri An reservoirs.

PM2.5 refers to particulate matter (PM) with a diameter of smaller than 2.5 micrometers flying in the atmosphere. The high concentration of PM2.5 seriously affects the health of people and animals. Using Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD) index achieved from satellite images is possible to estimate and monitor the variation of PM2.5. This study observes the variation of AOD and the maximum PM2.5 concentration over three sub-regions in northern Vietnam based on the daily MODIS aerosol product and PM2.5 measured at a ground station.

The paper presents the research to simulate air quality from PM2.5 indicator determined by satellite data. The relationship between ground-based station data and Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD) imagery from Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) was examined to establish a regression equation for mapping PM2.5 distribution in Ho Chi Minh city (HCMC).

This thesis is organized into five chapters. In chapter 1, I give an introduction to remotely-sensed data and its application in various domains. A problem statement is also presented. Theoretical backgrounds in remote sensing, compositing methods and land cover classification methods are introdu ced.

In this thesis, I have proposed a LCC method for these areas. Firstly, a dense time-series of composite images was constructed from all available multi-year Landsat 8 images over the study area. A m odified compositing method was proposed for the compositing process using Landsa t 8 SR images.

Although a number of studies have extensively inter-compared the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) satellite-based aerosol optical depth (AOD) with the Aerosol Robotic Network (AERONET) ground-based AOD on both global and regional scales, almost no similar studies have been conducted for Viet Nam - a humid subtropical climate region. For the first time, inter-comparison between the MODIS Terra and Aqua Collection 6.1 (C6.

Rice acreage estimation using Sentinel-1A dual polarised SAR data in Udham Singh Nagar (Uttarakhand)
Udham Singh Nagar is one of major rice producing area of Uttarakhand state, and it falls in Tarai region. The soils of the region are considered as most fertile land in India and aptly support rice production. Rice is a mainly grown in the rainy season which results in a limited number of cloud-free optical remote sensing images for estimation of rice acreage and its monitoring. Sentinel-1A is a European radar imaging satellite launched in 2014. Sentinel-1A satellite launched as a part of the European Union's Copernicus program which provide Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data i.e.

This research aims to introduce an algorithm for separating water and land boundaries using Landsat optical satellite images. The Landsat image is first radiation calibrated and atmospheric calibrated using a FLAASH model. Thresholding algorithm combining with image ratio was then applied to separate boundaries between water and land.
