Optimization criteria

Forest height is one of the influential information for managing forest cover and is also one of the criteria to evaluate the growth of organisms in the forest ecosystem. This paper suggests a novel coherence optimization algorithm to increase the accuracy of forest height estimation using the L-band PolInSAR images.

This paper focuses on investigating the driving torques of industrial robot arm joints by using the topology optimization algorithm for its links. Structural optimization criteria focus on reducing the mass of links in particular and the total mass of the system in general. Preliminary results show that there is a change in driving torques in a direction favorable for the operation of the joints when total mass of robot decreases for any trajectory.

In this research, the problems were divided into three small, medium and large groups, and for each of the solving methods the evaluation criteria was calculated. The results of this comparison indicated that non-dominated optimization algorithm outperforms the exact solving method. Therefore, it was concluded that this algorithm should be used to solve the model of real data.

An explicit finite element analysis (FEA) is used to derive higher-order response surfaces for these two objectives. This study proposes the application of an evolutionary algorithm in optimizing the construction process with Gantt charts to meet the multi-target requirements. The multi-target function is built based on single target criteria and is used as the cost function of the evolutionary algorithm. Pooled CRISPR screens are a powerful tool to probe genotype-phenotype relationships at genome-wide scale. However, criteria for optimal design are missing, and it remains unclear how experimental parameters affect results. Here, we report that random decreases in gRNA abundance are more likely than increases due to bottle-neck effects during the cell proliferation phase.
