Order larger than one
-
This paper proposes two kinds of fractional-order autonomous circuits based on fractionalorder elements with order larger than one. The corresponding mathematical models are also established based on fractional calculus and their characteristics are analyzed based on circuit theory. Finally, circuit simulation are performed to verify the correctness of theoretical analysis.

The obtainable quality factor for a nano beam resonator is limited due to internal damping such as thermoelastic damping. Therefore, understanding how internal damping varies with the respective resonant modes is very important to design a high performance nanoresonator. In this research, we investigate thermoelastic damping depending on vibration modes of nano beam resonators using finite element method. The study results show that the quality factor of a nanoresonator is lower than at high order modes.

The gene fprA of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, encoding a putative protein with 40% identity to mammalian adrenodoxin reductase, was expressed in Escherichia coli and the protein purified to homogeneity. The 50-kDa protein monomer contained one tightly bound FAD, whose fluorescence was fully quenched. FprA showed a low ferric reductase activity, whereas it was very active as a NAD(P)H diaphorase with dyes. Kinetic parameters were determined and the specificity constant (kcat/Km) for NADPH was two orders of magnitude larger than that of NADH....

Yet since we now have access to significantly more data, one has to wonder what conclusions that have been drawn on small data sets may carry over when these learning methods are trained using much larger corpora. In this paper, we present a study of the effects of data size on machine learning for natural language disambiguation. In particular, we study the problem of selection among confusable words, using orders of magnitude more training data than has ever been applied to this problem. First we show learning curves for four different machine learning algorithms. ...

How does it work? This question has been put to me so often by persons young and old that I have at last decided to answer it in such a manner that a much larger public than that with which I have personal acquaintance may be able to satisfy themselves as to the principles underlying many of the mechanisms met with in everyday life.
