Ordinary kriging

Four interpolation methods are applied to interpolate shallow groundwater level in Pleiku city, including inverse distance weighted, tension spline, universal kriging, and ordinary kriging. The cross-validation results record that the ordinary kriging is the best interpolation method which is shown by the lowest RMSE value, the highest R2 value.

This study uses data from Global Positioning System and Geographic Information System to produce digital maps for soil texture using the spatial analysis technique. Soil texture is one of the most important soil properties whose variability may contribute to the variation in nutrient storage and availability, water retention and transport, and binding and stability of soil aggregates.

Mapping of soil properties is an important operation as it plays an important role in the knowledge about soil properties and how it can be used sustainably. The study was carried out in a Bastar district, Chhattisgarh state, India in order to map out some soil characteristics and assess their variability within the area. Samples were collected from the 4 sampling sites, Kesloor and Raikot (NH-16), Adawal and Nagarnar (NH-43) in Jagdalpur.

In present study GPS based three hundred three surface (0-15 cm depth) soil samples, were collected across the district. The Zn, and Fe deficient in 79.54% and 7.92 percent soil samples and none of soil samples were found to be deficient in Cu, Mn and B. Soil pH showed significant and negative correlations with Zn, Cu, Mn and Fe. The EC had positive and significant relationship with OC and B with r values of 0.163** and 0.168**, respectively.
