Bottom gate, top contact Organic Field Effect Transistors (OFETs) were fabricated using copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) as an active layer. The electrical properties of OFETs fabricated with CuPc annealed at different annealing temperatures and different channel length to width (L/W) ratios were studied.

Vertical organic field-effect transistors (VOFETs) provide an advantage over lateral ones with respect to the possibility to conveniently reduce the channel length. This is beneficial for increasing both the cut-off frequency and current density in organic field-effect transistor devices.

Five dissymmetrically functionalized anthracene analogues (3a–e) were synthesized from commercially available 9,10-dibromoanthracene through an efficient bromine–iodine exchange followed by two successive Sonogashira coupling reactions. The resulting TMS-anthracene analogues are interesting building blocks for the preparation of highly π-conjugated dissymmetric pentacene-based dyads, which could be used as active semiconducting layers for organic field-effect transistors (OFETs).

In this paper, we propose an approach to fabricate normally-on OTFT based on floating gate, photoactive gate dielectric layer and programming process using external UV source. After fabrication, measurements of OTFT characteristics, including transfer and output, were performed. Estimation of the critical parameters including the threshold voltage and field effect mobility was also described.

We report on the electron trapping mechanism in a multi-level organic field effect transistor (OFET) memory using Lithium-ion-encapsulated fullerene (Li+@C60) as the floating gate. Based on the estimation of trapped electron number per each Li+@C60 molecule when a programming voltage was applied, the active domain of the floating gate was determined to be the surface of the Li+@C60 domain. An analysis of the cyclic voltammetry indicated that each Li+@C60 molecule can trap electrons at the trapping energy level of -4.94 and -4.49 eV.
