Organic manures on vegetative growth
-
Field experiment was conducted to observe the response of organic manures and micronutrients on vegetative growth, yield and quality attributes of carrot. The experiment was arranged in a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 10 treatments (T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, T8, T9 and T10) of three replicates each.

Continuous use of chemical fertilizers without organic sources poses soil health issues whereas organic manures using alone without inorganics could not be able to fulfill the requirement of high nutrient demanding crops due to the bulk and slow-acting nature of these organic fertilizer sources. However, neither organic fertilizers nor inorganic fertilizers alone can maintain productivity. The major yield limiting factors in crops production in Indian soils are NPS deficiencies.

Organic agricultural techniques are utilized globally to protect our environment and prevent health issues resulting from pesticides and hazardous chemicals. Traits such as plant growth characteristics (leaves/plant and plant spread), yield characteristics (flower buds, fruits per plant and fruit yield tons/ha) and quality characteristics (juice content, total sugar content, vitamin C and specific gravity) were observed.
