  • In this work, we have shown that the addition of Zn to nanocrystalline nickel ferrite enhanced its H2 sensing properties, such as sensitivity, response time, and stability. This is explained due to the formation of defects and oxygen vacancies in the crystal structure due to the substitution of Zn ions in place of Ni ions. These defects generated more active sites for H2 gas to interact with, resulting in improved sensing performance.

  • A green sol-gel method was employed to synthesize TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) using titanium metal. The synthesized TiO2 NPs underwent comprehensive characterization using techniques including X-ray diffraction (XRD), infrared spectroscopy (IR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and UV–Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-Vis DRS) to evaluate their structure, morphology, and spectral properties.

  • A low field benchtop electron spin resonance (ESR) (also referred to as electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR)) spectrometer is used to reveal paramagnetic centres such as oxygen vacancies and Ti+3 centres over 0.5%Pd/TiO2 . The measurement was performed at room temperature after the sample was reduced in situ under mild hydrogen pressures and evacuated to P < 10–6 Torr.

  • Energy storage by supercapacitors with short charging time and high power density is one of the types of electrochemical storage systems. Perovskite oxides have been significantly investigated as promising materials for energy storage in electrochemical systems. In this study, three perovskites, SrFeO3, SrCoO3 , and SrCo0.5Fe0.5O3, were prepared using the sol-gel method and used as supercapacitor electrode materials.

  • In addition, the effect of La1-xSrxCoO3 powders on the photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue and CO2 reduction reaction under UV light source was also investigated. The results showed a maximum photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue 30 ppm could be achieved with a degradation degree of 11.32% by La0.6Sr0.4CoO3 synthesized at 850oC for 4h (LSC64-850) in UV light for 150 min.

  • The resistive switching effect was observed with the ON/OFF ratio of 0.5102 , high endurance, excellent retention and the electrical transport mechanisms were followed by the SCLC and Ohmic’s law in the low resistance state and FlowerNordheim tunneling in the high resistance state. The resistive switching mechanism was contributed by the oxygen vacancies in ZnO nanoparticles and the oxygen ions in the bottom electrode.

  • Herein, titanium (Ti3+) self-doped strontium titanate (SrTiO3), so-called blue SrTiO3, with a bandgap of 2.6 eV and favorable photocatalytic characteristics was fabricated through a facile and effective method. For electrochemical investigations, the electrophoretic deposition was applied to produce SrTiO3 thin films on (fluorine-doped tin oxide) FTO conductive substrates. The electrophoretic voltage of 20V and a process duration of 10 min were optimized to reach transparent and uniform coatings on FTO. The blue SrTiO3 reveals lower resistance (charge transfer resistance of 6.

  • The result of magnetization measurements showed that the magnetization at a magnetic field as high as 1 T abnormally depends on x, increases with increasing x to a maximum at x=0.1 then decreases monotonously afterward. There are possibilities to account for this anomalous magnetic behavior such as the Fe3+-to-Fe4+ and/or Ti4+-to-Ti3+ change(s) induced by oxygen vacancies. The substitution of Fe into Ti sites also changes the conductivity of the material and impurity (acceptor) levels in the band gap.
