  • The ability of farmers in the village's economic life is very varied and tends to be in a weak position, especially in terms of saving skills. This study aims to determine the influence of socioeconomic factors on the ability to save, pull, and push elements of farmers to keep and resource savings fund farmers.   • A policy of high rice prices can increase paddy farm incomes but also cause a rise in rice expenditures for farm households. Such a policy is needed to stimulate production but can harm rice consumers, especially poor families. We surveyed 284 paddy farmers in Gantar Sub-District, Indramayu Regency, Indonesia to analyze the impact of increasing rice prices on farmers’ net incomes, including poor paddy farmers. We found that a price increase benefits farmer if the price transmission elasticity is more than 0.2 for non-poor paddy farmers or 0.6 for poor paddy farmers.

  • In Bihar threshing of paddy is generally done by women farmers and manual threshing causes high drudgery and time consuming operation. So to address this issue, a rapid assessment study was conducted. So it is very necessary to adopt women friendly technologies such as open drum thresher which reduced drudgery of women farmers during threshing and solved problems such as labour, time and cost.   • The present study was conducted in two districts of Upper Brahmaputra Valley Zone of Assam namely Jorhat and Majuli district in order to assess the socio-economic profile of flood affected farmers, their employment status and perception on flood impacts. A total of 160 farmers were selected from eight villages of two districts by following proportionate cum random sampling techniques. The findings reveal that majority of the respondents were in between 41-59 years of age with education level upto class VII standard and having 4-6 members in their family with average annual income Rs.7,339.

  • Urdbean or black gram is one of the most important cultivated pulse crops of the ‘Vigna’ group. Seeing to the importance as a major pulse crop a research study was carried out on sample farms to work out the costs and profitability of urdbean. A multi-stage random sampling technique was adopted for data collection; the study was conducted in Lailunga block of Raigarh district (C.G.), sample of 3 villages of this block was selected randomly. A sample of 60 farmers in the ratio of 20:20:20 was selected randomly. The farmers were classified into three groups viz., small (4.0 hectares) farms.

  • A field experiment was conducted during the kharif season of the year 2017 and 2018 at the experimental farm of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mokokchung, Nagaland to assess the response on growth and yield of maize crop as affected by different intercropping system under rubber plantation.   • Rice is the most important crop of Vietnam with a harvested area of 7,835 ha, production of 45.2 million tons of paddies, and export volume of 6,997 thousand tons of milled rice for an export value of USD 2,852 million in 2015.
