  • The present study was planned to prepare the flavored lassi with the blending of buttermilk and soymilk at different concentrations and the prepared product has been evaluated by trained judges on the basis of 9- point Hedonic scale. The prepared product was evaluated for its color and appearance, flavor, body and texture, taste and overall acceptability of the final product. The flavored lassi prepared 70 percent buttermilk and 30 percent soymilk got the highest overall acceptability by the panel members than other treatments.

  • This study was undertaken to develop and analyze β-carotene rich upma supplementing with curry leaves powder (5, 7.5 and 10 %). Leaves were blanched for 15 seconds and dried using freeze drier. Developed upma were subjected to sensory evaluation by a panel of semi-trained judges. Proximate composition, dietary fibre and β-carotene were analysed in developed upma.

  • Mango belong to the genus Mangifera member of Anacardiaceae family, is one of the most popular fruit in the word. Mango processing industries discarded large amounts of mango peel and mango kernel as waste. In this research, it was decided to use of ripe mango peel powder (MPP) at different proportion in mango nectar and study the sensory quality of MPP blended mango nectar. The sensory score for overall acceptability of MPP blended mango nectar of treatment T0, T1, T2, T3 and T4 were 8.00, 8.07, 8.39, 8.12 and 7.86, respectively.

  • India, the land of rich cultural heritage, has been known to the world for its vibrant arts and crafts since ancient time. Floor paintings are one of these art forms which are ritualistic part of ancient Indian culture. Aipan is one of the traditional folk arts of Kumaun region of Uttarakhand drawn on the floor, walls, etc. in the house. In the present study, aipan designs were explored for the designing of woven borders. Ten aipan designs (5 symmetrical and 5 asymmetrical in form) were selected from secondary sources and adapted to make them suitable for use in weaving.

  • Under the research work fine embroidered designs of Chikankari were adapted using CAD on diwan cover sets to widen the existing product range with the novel look. Out of total 50 motifs, the top scored 5 motifs were selected and arranged in different ways using rotation, flipping, to form different repeats brick, block dihedral, half drop e.t.c. The developed repeats were assessed on the parameters like size of the motif, placement of the motif and overall appearance.

  • The present study highlights the consumer acceptability of developed designs inspired from Molela craft of Rajasthan on women apparel items. Ethnic motifs of Molela craft were collected, screened and adapted to develop 30 new designs. These designs were evaluated by panel of experts to select two best designs for each of the five selected women apparels in best placement. Thus, finally selected ten adapted motifs were applied through stencil printing technique on five women apparel items. Their cost effectiveness was also judged along with profit margin.
