Peer mentors have been proven to improve diabetes outcomes, especially among diverse patients. Delivering peer mentoring via remote strategies (phone, text, mobile applications) is critical, especially in light of the recent pandemic.

Hemodialysis patients frequently experience dialysis therapy sessions complicated by intradialytic hypotension (IDH), a major patient safety concern. We investigate user-centered design requirements for a theory-informed, peer mentoring-based, informatics intervention to activate patients toward IDH prevention.

Caring of older adults with dementia at home can be challenging for home care workers. There is a need to develop suitable training for home care workers to improve the quality of dementia care. We evaluated a 12-week dementia care training including mobile e-learning, social networking, and mentoring support group meetings on the dementia care knowledge, attitude, and competence of home care workers.

Peer mentoring has been used as a tool to ensure students’ success in higher education (Husband & Jacob, 2009; Yomtov et. al., 2015). This study investigated the discourse of university-level peer mentoring from a sociolinguistic perspective. The participants were first-year Linguistics undergraduates at a university in Vietnam, who were invited to join a peer mentoring program in which four or five student-mentees work with one student-mentor to improve their English listening and speaking skills.

A long-standing tenet of distributed systems is that the strength of a distributed system can grow as more hosts partic- ipate in it. Each participant may contribute data and computing resources (such as unused CPU cycles and storage) to the overall system, and the wealth of the community can scale with the number of participants. A peer-to-peer (P2P) distributed system is one in which participants rely on one another for service, rather than solely relying on dedicated and often centralized infrastructure.
