Historically peptic ulcer disease was the most common cause of gastric outlet obstruction but now malignancy-associated disease process is more common. The most common clinical condition reported in dogs is acid related diseases in the stomach like gastric disorders due to a structural and functional defect in gastric mucosa. The most important factor for the development of gastritis, peptic ulcer disease and gastric cancer in human is Helicobacter pylori. In the cases of gastric disorder lesions in canine gastric mucosa is closely similar to their human counterparts. Gastric perforation due to fungal microorganisms are unusually rare. Most of the cases of gastric perforation results arising out of complications associated with peptic ulcer diseases (PUD), regular use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) and gastric cancer. Here we are report a case of a 70 years old male who presented with severe abdominal pain in epigastric region without any history of use of NSAIDs, peptic ulcer disease and gastric neoplasm. The patient underwent an emergency exploratory laparotomy and gastric perforation was repaired by modified Graham’s repair.
