The present study was carried out to find the level of performance of crossbred bulls based on AFC and FLMY of their progenies under the field condition. The data of progenies of 128 crossbred bulls from three different sources BAIF, Pune, GADVASU, Ludhiana and PDC, Meerut formed the experimental units over the period of last 10 year (2006 to 2016).

An experiment was conducted to study the effect of selective breeding of Japanese quails for improvement of performance. A total of 2765 quails were procured from Poultry Experimental Station as baseline population based on their body weight. Out of which 1850 quails with higher body weights were selected as parents to produce 1200 progeny quail chicks. The overall growth performance such as body weight, body weight gain and feed conversion ratio parameters were recorded weekly intervals till the birds attain six weeks of age, sex wise.

Heterosis or hybrid vigour is a phenomenon in which hybrid progeny exhibit superior performance compared to their parental inbred lines. Most commercial Chinese cabbage cultivars are F1 hybrids and their level of hybrid vigour is of critical importance and is a key selection criterion in the breeding system.

Micropropagation is a highly sought after technique in the commercial production of orchid plants. This has the advantage of providing large number of plants in a short period of time. But a major constrain in the in vitro propagation technique is the somaclonal variation. It is important to produce true to type planting materials especially in case of the hybrids as they are more prone to variations. The true to type nature of the micropropagated plantlets can be confirmed by genetic fidelity analysis.

Since sugarcane is a vegetatively propagated crop, heterosis can be settled and exploited in F1 age. The extent of heterosis gives a foundation to decide genetic diversity of variety and furthermore serves as a guide for the decision of attractive superior parents. Information about the magnitude of heterosis is the prerequisite criteria for the development of superior hybrids. A good hybrid should manifest high amount of heterosis for commercial exploitation.
