Phosphate solubilizing fungi

Xem 1-10 trên 10 kết quả Phosphate solubilizing fungi
  • Beneficial biofilms developed by nitrogen fixing bacteria and P - solubilising fungi in vitro conditions and also used as biofertilizers in non - leguminous crops and also observed that the bacteria colonized fungal mycelia to form biofilms. The biofilms showed high rates of biological nitrogen fixation and organic acid production which directly influences the synthesis of indole acetic acid like substances than microbes when used as monocultures. (Seneiviratne et al., 2003).

  • Traditional organic farming practices are beneficial but in most of the cases the science behind it is not well understood. The aim of present study was selection of grassroots practice from SRISTI database and its validation for crops growth promotion. Formulation was prepared and studied for their microbial content and growth. Results showed maximum bacterial population as compared to fungi and actinomycetes population. Five bacterial isolates showed phosphate solubilizing activity and these isolates were further studied as bioinoculants for Zea mays L. growth in pot experiment.

  • Laboratory experiments were conducted to isolate screen and select the efficient P-solubilizing fungal isolates from maize rhizosphere in the districts of Northern Karnataka. 21 P-solubilizing fungal isolates were obtained from the soil samples and were screened for phosphorus solubilizing ability on Pikovskaya’s agar and broth M-10(1) showed highest phosphorus solubilizing activity. Five efficient isolates were selected and assessed for other functional activities such as zinc and potassium solubilization, phytohormone production (IAA and GA3) and cellulolytic activity.

  • The present study was carried out to assess the effect of bio-inoculants [arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), rhizobium (Rhi)/azotobacter (Azo) and phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB)] on growth and yield of two important oilseed crops of Bundelkhand region, viz., Arachis hypogaea (groundnut) and Sesamum indicum (sesame). Study consisted of six treatments viz., AMF, Rhi/Azo, PSB, Rhi/Azo+PSB, AMF+Rhi/Azo+PSB and control. The recommended dose of DAP was applied in all the plots and treatments were imposed in respective plots.

  • A laboratory study was conducted to assess the efficacy of the different microbes to solubilise nano rock phosphate. Nano rock phosphate was prepared using a 24 blade FRITSCH Rotar Mill (Model-Pulverizette-14) with a 80µm sieve, followed by high energy ball milling. The nano rock phosphate particles were characterized by Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM), Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis regarding their size, shape, morphology, structure and composition.

  • Bacterial and fungal endophytes are widespread inhabitants inside plant tissues and have been shown to assist plant growth and health. However, little is known about plant growth-promoting endophytes (PGPE) of medicinal plants. Therefore, the aims of this study were to identify bacterial and fungal endophytes of Teucrium polium and to characterize plant growth-promoting (PGP) properties of these endophytes.

  • Biological control of soilborne plant pathogens is a possible alternative to the use of chemical pesticides, which are harmful to the environment. Under greenhouse and field conditions several isolated strains of the fungus Trichoderma have been found to be effective biocontrol agents of various soilborne plant pathogenic fungi.
