Phosphorus (P) deficiency is second to nitrogen (N) and its deficiency is widespread. Soil based site specific P recommendation for sustainable crop productivity mainly relies on status, and availability of phosphorus. Representative soil samples (250) from different agro-ecological regions of Eastern Dry Zone (EDZ) of Karnataka were analysed for P status and randomly collected samples were analysed for P fractions.

In order to know the effect of PSB seed treatment and P levels on P-fractions in different growth stages of groundnut a field experiment was conducted on a sandy loam soil at KVK, UAHS, Shimoga during kharif of 2013 The levels of phosphorus @ 0, 25, 37.5 and 50 kg P2O5 as DAP per ha-1 with or without PSB seed treatment were tried in a randomized complete block design with three replications and eight treatments.

In order to quantify the interrelationship between the P fractions and P extracted by different reagents, the soil samples were also analyzed through correlation analysis, linear multiple regression analysis and path analysis. The correlation and linear multiple regression is usually applied to explore the relationships between the fractions and extractants of P. Path analysis was developed around 1918 by Sewall Wright.

The field experiment was conducted at College of Agriculture, Shivamogga during kharif 2015-2016. The total quantity of P and plant-available P often differ greatly fraction in acidic soils. Assessing available P is fundamental aspect to managing P in many of these soils. The objectives of this study were to effect of phosphorus levels through integrated nutrient management (INM) packages on status of phosphorus in soil under groundnut crop.

Soil enzymes play a major role in mineralization of nitrogen, phosphorus and sulphur. mineralization is the process of transformation of organically bound elements into mineral form which will readily taken up by plants and is crucial to plant nutrition and indirectly plays a role agriculture productivity. The enzyme phosphatase plays an important role in providing the plant its nutrition. In most soils, the organically bound P- fraction is higher than the inorganic. Phosphorus uptake by plants requires mineralization of the organic P component by phosphatases to available form.

The phosphorus fractions of the twenty surface soils (0-15 cm) of Imphal West district, Manipur and their relationship with some physico-chemical properties of the soils were studied. A significant relationship was obtained between organic-P and total-P in the soils. The average Sal-P, Fe-P, Al-P, Red-P, Occl-P and Ca-P content were 8.70, 73.38, 50.83, 82.54, 29.00 and 22.17 ppm, respectively.

Phosphorus fractionation study in soils of Agricultural Botany Research Farm, Nagpur were studied in which 10 surface (0-15 cm depth) and 10 subsurface (15-30 cm depth) soil samples collected from studied area were analysed for different physical and chemical properties and different P fractions. The content of total P was very high. Ca-P was the dominant inorganic P fraction (41.11%), followed by Al-P (10.12%), Reductant soluble P (6.88%) and Occluded P (4.53%), Fe-P (4.27%), Saloid- P (0.62%).

In present study, phosphorus fractions in representative agricultural soils belonging to four soil orders Vertisols, Inceptisols, Alfisols and Aridisols. The experiment was conducted at the carry out the investigation a laboratory in the lab of Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), College of Agriculture, Indore. Result revealed that the highest soil pH analysed in Vertisols with the range 7.9 followed by Aridisols range 7.8, Alfisols range 6.6, and low pH found in Inceptisols, which 6.4 soil orders, respectively.

The present research study has been conducted with prime objective to investigate the effect of manure and fertilizers on chemical fractions of Fe and Mn under rice-wheat system. Laboratory analysis was made on the soil samples collected (October 2013) from an on-going long-term field experiment (in progress since Kharif2009-10) at Department of Soil Science, PAU, Ludhiana. The organic manure through bio gas slurry (BGS) @ 6 t ha-1 was incorporated along with nitrogen (N @ 80 and 120 kg ha-1 ), phosphorus (P @ 30 kg ha-1 ) and potassium fertilizer (K @ 30 kg ha-1 ) to the rice crop.

In present study, phosphorus fractions in representative agricultural soils belonging to three soil orders Vertisol, Inceptisol and Alfisol JNKVV, Farm, Jabalpur were investigated. Result revealed that the highest soil pH analysed in Vertisols with the range 7.57 to 7.68 followed by Alfisols range 6.37 to 7.18 and low pH found in Inceptisols, which 6.27 to 6.72 soil orders, respectively. The EC was existed as normal in all the orders < 1 dS m-1 at 25°C. The organic carbon content was recorded in different soil orders ranged from 4.60 to 6.60 g kg-1 .

Greenhouse experiment was conducted to assess the soil biochemical change patterns in soils of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus (AMF)-inoculated and uninoculated maize plants fertilized with varying levels of P and Zn. Soil samples were collected for mycorrhizal spores, microbial communities, available micronutrients and phosphorus (P) contents besides organic and biomass carbon (BMC), soil enzymes and glomalin. Major portion of Fe and Zn fractionations was found to occur in the residual form.
