  • This study aimed to develop a photocatalyst that responds to visible light. For the preparation of visible light sensitive photocatalysts, N was doped into TiO2(N-TiO2). To inhibit the recombination of excited electrons and holes, transition metals (M = Pt, Cu, Fe, Cr) were loaded on the N-TiO2. N-TiO2 nanotubes were also synthesized by a hydrothermal treatment of the prepared N-TiO2 in a strong basic environment.

  • The use of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (CNTs) in sol-gel synthesized titanium dioxide (TiO2) photocatalysts as templates was systematically studied. CNTs have high oxidative thermal stability and the controlled removal of CNTs can be achieved at lower temperatures under air flow by the use of Na, Fe, and Co as a catalyst. These catalysts helped to reduce the oxidation temperature of CNTs; thus anatase phase was achieved without significant sintering.

  • This paper aimed at implementing a treatment system for polluted water with textile dyes, starting with a photocatalytic decomposition process using sunlight as a source of energy and continuing with a bacterial biodegradation process, in order to reach degradation percentages higher than those obtained using only one of the processes mentioned above. When water treatment with the dye in the combined system was over, an acute ecotoxicity test was performed to make sure that toxic metabolites were not produced due to biodegradation.

  • In this study, the halloysite nanotube material will be fabricated from a natural halloysite mineral and used as a support for the photocatalytic activity phase based on TiO2. The material is characterized by modern physicochemical methods such as XRD, SEM, BET, UV - vis spectrum, and EDX. Accordingly, the refined halloysite has a nanoscale with a length of about 1.3 μm and a capillary size of about 5 nm. After the deposition of Ag - TiO2 on the halloysite, the specific surface of the material measured by the BET method was about 60 m2/g, and the structure of the halloysite was intact.
