Physiological and morphological traits of flag leaf play important roles in determining crop grain yield and biomass. In order to understand genetic basis controlling physiological and morphological traits of flag leaf, a double haploid (DH) population derived from the cross of Huaai 11 × Huadamai 6 was used to detect quantitative trait locus (QTL) underlying 7 physiological and 3 morphological traits at the pre-filling stage in year 2012 and 2013.

This investigation aimed to study the photosynthetic adaptability and shade tolerance of liana in riverside green space. For this purpose, the illumination intensity gradient is set to 2000, 1800, 1500, 1200, 1000, 800, 600, 400, 200, 100, 0 μmol·m-2·s-1, and the corresponding net photosynthetic rate (Pn) value is determined. After the data on the photosynthetic tester is stable, read the value and repeat the measurement 3 times for each gradient.

Carbonic anhydrase (CA) catalyzes the hydration of CO2 in the first biochemical step of C4 photosynthesis, and has been considered a potentially rate-limiting step when CO2 availability within a leaf is low. Previous work in Zea mays (maize) with a double knockout of the two highest-expressed β-CA genes, CA1 and CA2, reduced total leaf CA activity to less than 3% of wild-type.

Root hypoxia has detrimental effects on physiological processes and growth in most plants. The effects of hypoxia can be partly alleviated by ethylene. However, the tolerance mechanisms contributing to the ethylene-mediated hypoxia tolerance in plants remain poorly understood.

Short episodes of high temperature (HT) stress during reproductive stages of development cause significant yield losses in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). Two independent experiments were conducted to quantify the effects of HT during anthesis and grain filling periods on photosynthesis, leaf lipidome, and yield traits in wheat.

Heat stress one of the Environment stress comes under Abiotic stress. Heat stress is the major problem for wheat crops in the current climate whether as a result of increasing global warming. These changes affect negative possessions on crops such, physiological aspects. In that study, there are taken various physiological parameters for twelve wheat genotypes viz DBW17, PBW343, DBW71, DBW16, WH711, RAJ3765, PBW373, PBW502, C306, WH730, PBW233, and WH157.The chlorophyll content and photosynthetic rate, decrease in high temperature (37ºC). Chlorophyll content average was 37.

In addition, the net photosynthetic rate (Pn) of plants under PA condition was statistically higher and increased over the culture period while Pn of plants under PM condition remained constant. This study demonstrated that MS salts with half concentration of NH4NO3 and photoautotrophic culture method were appropriate for in vitro growth of hydrangea.

The Present study was carried out in the wire-netting house of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kalahandi during Rabi 2014-15.The objective of the present endeavour was to screen 6 number of Paddy varieties (early group,75-85 days) for higher photosynthetic efficiency with higher productivity under simulated moisture stress conditions. The experiment was laid out in a factorial CRD with three stress treatments and three replications.

An experiment was conducted in rabi season during 2012-2013 and 2013- 2014 to find out the effect of cereal crops (Wheat, Oat, Barley) and cutting schedule on forage and grain yield. The study revealed the maximum chlorophyll accumulation in Barley and wheat during initial stage at 95 DAS and wheat and barley during reproductive stage at 30 DAS. Cutting at 50 DAS is proved beneficial on chlorophyll accumulation. Photosynthetic rate were maximum in wheat at 90 DAS.

The study indicated that the PPFM and PGRs could be effectively improving drought tolerance capacity of tomato crop under drought. Among the PGRs and different concentrations of PPFM used, PPFM (2%) was found to superior in improving RWC, photosynthetic rate, SPAD value and proline content. The anti oxidant enzyme, catalase activity was enhanced by PPFM (2%) and salicylic acid (100 ppm) treatments which has the ability to protect the plant under abiotic stress by nullifying oxidative damage.

A study was conducted to investigate the effect of drought on physiological characteristics in twelve sunflower genotypes. Moisture stress treatment were imposed at flower bud initiation stage (irrigation withheld from 40 DAS to 60 DAS) whereas, Control plots were irrigated at 10 days intervals throughout the crop growth period. Results revealed that water stress showed repressing effect on Relative water content, Photosynthetic rate, leaf fluorescence, membrane leakage, chlorophyll content and specific leaf area in all the genotypes examined.

In the changing climate scenario, drought could be continued as a major abiotic limitation for crop productivity. Finger millet although known for its drought tolerance, the drought stress decreases the grain yield from 25 to 100 percent depending on the duration and magnitude of drought stress. Present study was conducted to explore the genetic variability of selected genotypes over the ruling varieties if any, based on the extent of reduction in grain yield, and dependent photosynthetic traits due to moderate drought stress for 18 to 20 days (grand growth to flower primordial initiation).

This study analyzed the endogenous changes, which were particularly influenced by the spectrum of light emitting diode (LED) with induction flowering time from 30th to 40th day. In the 40th day of the flowering process, when the average number of flower buds get the highest, endogenous carbohydrate content was decreased. However, in this phase, plants need more energy; therefore, the net photosynthetic rate tends to increase in order to supply energy for flowering.

Field experiment was conducted during summer, 2018 to determine the influence of LAI on yield maximisation in finger millet genotypes by varying plant densities. Maximum grain yield was obtained at the plant density of 44.4 to 66.6 hills m-2 but above or below. The source size (LAI) and source activity (photosynthetic rate) were not the limitations for yield maximisation under optimal irrigation and; LAI of 6.5 to 7.0 was optimum for maximum finger millet yield especially in variety, GPU-28.

In fruit production, the effects of flowering and fruiting, which modify source-sink relationships, cannot be overlooked and is even more true in tropical fruit production, where the flowering and fruiting phases exceed six months at the individual tree scale. More specifically, little is known about the effects of source/sink balance, and the associated changes in carbon export rate from leaves and leaf carbohydrate concentration, like the ones resulting from the presence of developing fruits, on leaf nitrogen and photosynthetic capacity within the crown of field-growing trees.
