In order to study the relations of hepatocellular functions, weight gain and metabolic imbalance caused by low-dose antibiotics (LDA) via epigenetic regulation of gene transcription, 32 weaned piglets were employed as animal models and randomly allocated into two groups with diets supplemented with 0 or LDA (chlorotetracycline and virginiamycin).

In animals, weaning stress is the first and most critical stress. Weaning can negatively affect the growth performance of animals physically, psychologically, and pathologically. Our previous studies on the HT-29 cell line and early-weaned rats demonstrated that adequate sophorolipid (SPL) supplementation in feed could enhance the mucin-producing and wound healing capacities of the gut defence system by modulating gut microbiota.

The experiment was conducted to study the blood profile of pre-weaned Hampshire piglets fed creep ration supplemented with probiotics and milk powder. Twenty eight numbers of piglets were selected from litters of four sows, thus forming T0, T1, T2 and T3 groups having 7 piglets each and allocated to different feeding treatment.

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of nano mineral-supplemented diet on sow productivity. The data were estimated by several parameters consisting of piglet live ratio at newborn stage and weaning stage, piglet weight at newborn stage and weaning stage, metal content in piglet livers. The results showed that live ratio of newborn piglets in group III was highest (93.44 ± 2.83%) comparing with other groups.

A feeding trial for 90 days was conducted in Twenty-four Large White Yorkshire piglets distributed into four treatment groups, fed respectively with basal diet without probiotic, basal diet with freeze dried Lactobacillus acidophilus (1.0 x106 CFU/g of feed, basal diet with freeze dried Lactobacillus plantarum (1.0 x106 CFU/g of feed), basal diet with freeze dried Lactobacillus acidophilus (1.0 x103 CFU/g of feed and Lactobacillus plantarum (1.0 x103 CFU/g of feed).
