PMS activation

In this study, we synthesized CuCoFe-LDH bilayer hydroxide catalysts in different Cu:Co:Fe ratios (1:1:1; 1:2:1, and 1:3:2) by hydrothermal method and applied them to activate peroxymonosulfate (PMS) for decomposing levofloxacin. The obtained LDH samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy.

Blocks 10 and 11.1 are located at the western boundary of the Nam Con Son basin, offshore southern Vietnam. Hydrocarbon shows have been encountered in many wells as the Gau Chua (GC), Ca Cho (CC), Gau Ngua (GN), Phi Ma (PM), Than Ma (TM), etc. In the CC and GNfields, the oil and gas were discovered in Miocene sandstone reservoirs and in fractured granite basement. The Cau and Dua formations are active source rocks in this area.

In this study, ferrihydrite/ultrasound (US) system was used to activate peroxymonosulfate (PMS) to treat humic acid (HA) in artificial aqueous. The physical and chemical properties of ferrihydrite were characterized using SEM, zeta potential, BET, XRD, FTIR, and XPS analysis. A series of experiments were conducted to evaluate the effect of various factor on HA removal, including dosage of ferrihydrite, PMS concentration and pH value.

Enzymes in the gut of three different stages (juvenile, pre-clitellate, clitellate) of the earthworm species Perionyx ceylanensis, reared in the vermibed substrates namely, teak leaf litter (TLL), paper mill sludge (PMS) and pressmud (PM) in combination with cowdung were analysed. The enzymes, amylase (EC 3.2.1.1), cellulase (EC 3.2.1.4.), protease (EC 3.4.0), phosphatase (EC 3.1.3.1, 2) and invertase (EC 3.2.1.20) were analysed from gut contents of the earthworm reared in TLL, PMS and PM on 60th day.
