Polymer nanocomposite coating

The fiber composite was found to have excellent biocompatibility with significant cell growth, while the MTX-loaded PVA/HAP/FA composite showed cytotoxicity against A459 cells. The prepared fibrous composites will serve as a superior biomaterial for osteosarcoma-diseased bone repair after evidencing of in-vivo and clinical trials.

We report the effect of graphene oxide (GO) on film formation and morphological properties of GO-doped polystyrene (PS) latex nanocomposite (PS latex/GO) films using UV-visible absorption spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). PS latex particles were synthesized through emulsion polymerization technique and then nanocomposite blends, each containing different concentrations of GO ranging from 0 wt% to 70 wt%, were obtained.

In this study, effects of graphene oxide (GO) and ZnO nanoparticles on the properties of acrylic polymer (R4152) coating were investigated. SEM images indicated that ZnO nanoparticles distributed uniformly on GO sheets. Hence, GO/ZnO could be dispersed homogenously in the acrylic polymer matrix while ZnO nanoparticles were agglomerated in acrylic polymer matrix in the absence of GO.

In this study, TiO2 was used as an additive for polyaniline, considered to be a matrix polymer. The nanocomposite film was fabricated electrochemically on metal surfaces (mild steel and stainless steel). The electrochemical properties of polyaniline could be seen on the cyclic voltammogram.

In this paper, we demonstrate the preparation of silibinin-loaded carbon nanotubes (SWSB) with surface coating agents via non-covalent approach as an effective drug delivery system. The resulting surface-coated SWSB nanocomposites are extensively characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and Raman spectroscopies, ultraviolet–visible (UV–Vis) spectrometry and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM).

The last RAPRA Report on Polymers in Aerospace Applications (W.W. Wright, Report 37) was published in 1990. The present report strives to provide a contemporary review of this area with an emphasis on the literature appearing after 1990. It includes coverage of new materials and technologies (particularly nanocomposites). The principal use for polymers in aerospace applications is as a matrix material and/or reinforcing bre for composites. Other major applications include use in adhesives, anti-misting additives, coatings, elastomers, bres, and foams...
