An experiment was conducted, for three consecutive years to evaluate the effect of seed rates on yield and economic traits in Bold as well as Fine seeded rice variety in terms of Direct-Seeded technique. The experiment was laid out in Factorial Randomized Block design and replicated thrice. Study concluded that Pooled means of seed rates at Sakoli indicated that sowing of 75 kg seed ha-1 (3458 kg ha-1 ) was expressively higher in grain yield but was at par with sowing of 50 kg seedha-1 .

Pre-harvest foliar spray of chemicals and mulching is an important technique to extend the self-life, marketability as well as fruit quality of mango. Keeping in view the experiment was conducted under the experimental area of BAU, Sabour, Bhagalpur, Bihar, India during the two successive seasons of 2012 and 2013. Thirty-year-old mango cv. Langra trees were used with eight treatments along with polythene mulching (during October) and per-harvest chemicals were sprayed at 30 days before harvesting of fruits of CaCl2 6H2O @ 2, 4 and 6%,Ca (No3)2@ 4%, K2SO4@ 1.0% and borax @ 1.

The production of fine roots (diameter ≤2 mm) contributes considerably to carbon cycling in forest ecosystems. Fine roots constitute a significant organic matter pool with high net primary productivity and turnover. In this study, fine root decomposition, mortality, and production were estimated at a Quercus serrata Murr. plantation in Japan by using rates of diameter-dependent root mortality, decomposition, and the thickening method employed. Sequential soil core and litter bag techniques were used to collect field data. The experiments were set up in a 20×20 m plot.

Berseem, a nitrogen-fixing, annual, multicut forage crop cultivated around 2 million hectares areas of northern, central and eastern parts of India. This paper describes three building blocks of a technological Knowledge Management (KM) system that provides all relevant and practical means of supporting KM and thus differentiates itself from existing KM tools in goal and approach, as they usually deal with a limited range only. We explore how active learning with Support Vector Machines works well for a non-trivial task in natural language processing. We use Japanese word segmentation as a test case. In particular, we discuss how the size of a pool affects the learning curve. It is found that in the early stage of training with a larger pool, more labeled examples are required to achieve a given level of accuracy than those with a smaller pool. In addition, we propose a novel technique to use a large number of unlabeled examples effectively by adding them gradually to a pool. ...

When a speculum is not employed the pipette is gently introduced in to the vagina until resistance is encountered. It is important to compress the suction bulb during the introduction of the pipette to avoid collecting the cellular material of the lower vaginal origin. The cellular material is spread on a clean glass slide and fixed immediately.

There is a global trend of falling household sizes over time, though an international comparison quickly reveals that this reduction is not uniform across countries. Apart from tradition, economic variables are influential in determining how many people live together in one household. We have tried to capture this relationship with a pooled cross-section of 38 countries and data for different years between 1960 and 2006. The dependent variable is the average household size.
