In the present study, we have made an attempt to prepare complexed PVA-PVP-KNO3-BaTiO3 blend composite polymer electrolyte membranes composed of potassium nitrate (KNO3) as salt and BaTiO3 of various concentrations as filler and studied their properties. The advantages of addition the fillers are the increase in ionic conductivity at room temperatures and the improvement of the stability at the interface with electrodes.

Nowadays, agglomerated citrus fruit flavored Tasty Saline functional powder drink represents a very appealing functional beverage for adult customers. It is produced by mixing basic ingredients (refined sucrose, refined common salt, encapsulated lemon flavor, dextrose anhydrous and potassium chloride) which were followed by agglomeration. Agglomeration is necessary, because non-agglomerated refined sucrose exhibit very poor flow and reconstitution properties.

Ammonium dinitramide (ADN) is one of the potential oxidants in solid propellant formulations because it is environmentally friendly, has a high specific impulse, and has minimum signature exhaust gases. ADN was synthesized through the nitration reaction of potassium sulfamate salt with a mixture of sulfuric acid and nitric acid.

Bromide is a halide ion of the element bromine usually administered in the form of potassium salt as monotherapy or add-on treatment in epileptic dogs. It is excreted unchanged in the urine and undergoes tubular reabsorption in competition with chloride. Thus, dietary chloride content affects serum bromide concentrations.

In this work, new tunable aryl alkyl pyrazolium tetrafluoroborate ionic liquids/salts, 2-ethyl-1-(p-X-phenyl)-3,5- dimethylpyrazolium tetrafluoroborate [X: -Br (4a), -OCH3 (4b), -NO2 (4c)] and 2-butyl-1-(p-X-phenyl)-3,5-dimethylpyrazolium tetrafluoroborate [X: -Br (5a), -OCH3 (5b), -NO2 (5c)], were synthesized by following halide-free synthetic route. Their chemical structures were identified through NMR (1 H, 13C, 19F), IR, elemental analysis, and HRMS data. The synthesized 4a-4c and 5a-5c salts were used for the removal studies of methyl orange dye from aqueous solutions.

Seashore paspalum (Paspalum vaginatum), a halophytic warm-seasoned perennial grass, is tolerant of many environmental stresses, especially salt stress. To investigate molecular mechanisms underlying salinity tolerance in seashore paspalum, physiological characteristics and global transcription profiles of highly (Supreme) and moderately (Parish) salinity-tolerant cultivars under normal and salt stressed conditions were analyzed.

A study was conducted by aiming at reducing salt levels in pork sausages and curry without affecting the quality and shelf stability of the products. Low salt pork sausages and curry were standardized with 0.7% potassium chloride and 0.5% oregano (T1), T2 with 0.7% potassium chloride and 0.5% ajwain and T3 with oregano and ajwain without any salt incorporation and subjected to storage studies, under refrigerated temperature.

A Study was undertaken to evaluate the fertility status of Nignoti village, Indore district, Madhya Pradesh covering a village during 2013-2014. The systematic collection of samples in geo–referenced surface (0-15cm) soils was done from 250 sites representing Vertisols and associated soils. The samples were analyzed for Mechanical composition of soil viz., Sand, Silt, Clay and chemical composition viz., pH, EC, O.M., and analyzed the different forms of potassium viz., water soluble K, exchangeable K, available non exchangeable K, lattice K, total K.

Identification of plant growth promoting Rhizobacteria as biofertilizers for salt stress environment
Plant growth promoting rhizobacteria are found in the rhizosphere of plants worldwide and enhance their growth and development under unfavorable environmental condition. In the present investigation, twelve plant growth promoting rhizobacteria were isolated from the rhizosphere of different plants. Among these isolated rhizobacteria, identified one out of twelve, which showed best biofertilizer activity efficiently and also performing well under salt stress environment.

The present investigation highlights the feasibility of a polymer grafting process to enhance the durability and flame retardancy of rice straw towards application as a low cost roofing material. The success of this grafting methodology was perceived to depend upon a bi-step pre-treatment process encompassing delignification and inorganic salts dispersion. Subsequently free radical polymer grafting of acrylonitrile onto rice straw was implemented by immersion mechanism initiated by oxalic acid-potassium permanganate initiator.

In connection with the global demand for safe human food and the production of environmentally friendly aquaculture products, acidifiers are natural organic acids and salts that have received considerable attention as animal-feed additives. The current study was designed to evaluate the effects of potassium diformate (KDF) on the growth performance and immunity of cultured Oreochromis niloticus (O. niloticus). Four iso-nitrogenous and iso-caloric rations containing graded levels of KDF, including 0% (control basal diet), 0.1%, 0.2% and 0.

In the quaternary experiments, separation of Cs and Sr was nearly identical at the slower rates; however, as the growth rate increased, SrCl2 separated more easily than CsCl. The quaternary results show less separation and rate dependence than in both ternary cases. As an estimated result, only 51% of the total salt could be recycled per batch.
