The research for this project seeks a deeper understanding of transitional objects during any stage of life. This research contributes to the fields of fine art, memory and psychology. Further inquiries for personal and psychoanalytical research may assist in understanding the potential of this research and its application for adults. Developing areas such as art therapy and the psychological support that extrapolates on an infant’s recognised use of a transitional object.

Nano-cellulose 3D-networks (NA3D) could be produced by Acetobacter xylinum (A. xylinum) living in the fermented aqueous green tea extract. NA3Ds include nano fibers forming networks, which are capable of drug loading to form a prolonged release therapy to improve drug bioavailability.

Báo cáo khoa học: Structural mobility of the monomeric C-terminal domain of the HIV-1 capsid protein
The capsid protein of HIV-1 (p24) (CA) forms the mature capsid of the human immunodeficiency virus. Capsid assembly involves hexamerization of the N-terminal domain and dimerization of the C-terminal domain of CA (CAC), and both domains constitute potential targets for anti-HIV therapy.

Enzyme enhancement therapy is an emerging therapeutic approach that has the potential to treat many genetic diseases. Candidate diseases are those associated with a mutant protein that has difficulty folding and⁄or assembling into active oligomers in the endoplasmic reticulum.

Tumour necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) induces apoptosis in a variety of tumour cells, but not in most normal cells, and has attracted considerable attention for its potential use in cancer therapy. Recently, increasing evidence has shown that TRAIL is involved in inflam-mation, although much of this evidence is controversial.

Because clinical trials of pharmacological neuroprotective strategies in stroke have been disappointing, attention has turned to the brain’s own endogenous strategies for neuroprotection. Two endogenous mechanisms have been characterized so far, namely ischemic preconditioning and ische-mic postconditioning.

The increasing number of chromosomal rearrangements involving the humanMLLgene, in combination with differences in clinical behavior and outcome for MLL-rearranged leukemia patients, makes it necessary to reflect on the cancer mechanism and to discuss potential therapeutic strate-gies. To date, 64 different translocations have been identified at the molecular level.

It is becoming increasingly clear that signals generated in tumor microenvi-ronments are crucial to tumor cell behavior, such as survival, progression and metastasis. The establishment of these malignant behaviors requires that tumor cells acquire novel adhesion and migration properties to detach from their original sites and to localize to distant organs.

Intermediate-risk patients are those with any of the following criteria: microscopic tumour invasion into the perithyroidal tissues at initial surgery, cervical lymph node metastases or 131I uptake outside the thyroid bed on the initial post-treatment scan, or tumour with aggressive histology or vascular invasion. Finally, high-risk patients have macroscopic tumour invasion, incomplete tumour resection, distant metastases or elevated thyroglobulin out of proportion to what is seen on the post-treatment scan (Cooper et al., 2009).

There is an urgent need to develop new innovative therapies for the control of advanced cancer. The combination of antigen-specific immunotherapy with the employment of immunomodulatory agents has emerged as a potentially plausible approach for the control of advanced cancer. Methods: In the current study, we explored the combination of the DNA vaccine encoding calreticulin (CRT) linked to human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV-16) E7 antigen (CRT/E7) with the TLR7 agonist imiquimod for their ability to generate E7-specific immune responses and antitumor effects in tumor-bearing mice.

Abstract Resistance to conventional anticancer therapies in patients with advanced solid tumors has prompted the need of alternative cancer therapies. Moreover, the success of novel cancer therapies depends on their selectivity for cancer cells with limited toxicity to normal tissues. Several decades after Coley's work a variety of natural and genetically modified non-pathogenic bacterial species are being explored as potential antitumor agents, either to provide direct tumoricidal effects or to deliver tumoricidal molecules.
