An experiment was conducted to study the effect of surface soil removal and organic amendment on soil properties cultivating sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) during Kharif 2018. A split plot with three replications was designed. Surface soil removal of 0 (control), 5 and 10 cm designated as D0, D1 and D2 were carried out, respectively. The addition of different organic amendments was adopted vis, O0- control, O1- vermicompost @ 3 tonnes ha-1 , O2- poultry litter @ 3 tonnes ha-1 and O3- pig manure @ 3 tonnes ha-1 .

An experiment has been conducted to study the effects of application of different level of organic fertiliser and inorganic fertiliser on economic of onion production as well as the fertiliser uptake by plant. From the data it was found that the 25% RDF + 75% N of poultry manure was most effective treatment in respect to economics of onion cultivation for higher net return with greater benefit cost (B: C) ratio as well as uptake of NPK.

Poultry litter is an abundantly available waste biomass, which is used for direct land applications since a long time. Direct use of poultry litter on agricultural lands causes many environmental concerns like, nutrient runoff, eutrophication, flaw odor, greenhouse gas emission due to decaying and microbial contamination.

Interest in soil enzyme activity has increased recently since their activities are believed to reflect the potential capacity of soil to perform nutrient transformations. Since, soil microbial and enzyme systems are associated with organic manure management, incorporation of organic manures into soil not only plays an important role in soil chemical and biological activity, but also affects the rate at which nutrients become available to crop plants as well as other forms of life.

At present the poultry farming supply vital sprig of animal protein and also the most freely reared livestock species amongst the all livestock species. In spite of its huge benefits like production of meat, eggs and job generations it frequently creates some environmental risks which are not good to both human and animal, because the poultry farming is the main cause of nasty smell, water ,soil, and air pollution.

Raising confined poultry generates waste that causes environmental problems, and that requires special handling in order to minimize these impacts. Poultry litter contains bird feces and feathers, spilled feed and the moisture-absorbing material used on the floor of the cages. This results in a residue with a high concentration of nutrients that may impact the soil due to the wide availability of poultry litter.
