Prevalence of leprosy

Strongyloidiasis is a soil-transmitted helminthiasis mainly caused by Strongyloides stercoralis. It is endemic to the tropics and subtropics. Sri Lanka has a 0–1.6% prevalence rate. S. stercoralis infection was identified in a 33-year-old Sri Lankan male patient treated with corticosteroids for borderline lepromatous leprosy with adrenocortical dysfunction.

This study was conducted to present and to analize the trends in case detection and prevalence of leprosy in Vietnam from 1983 to 2018. Individual records and annual reports were collected to analyze information of the prevalence of registered cases, the numbers of new cases detected yearly, their sex, age, classification and disability status.
