Price performance

This paper is set out to explore the performance of the APT in the Vietnamese market in the context of the U.S - China trade war 2018. Testing on the listed stocks in Vietnamese stock exchanges provides a certain impact of the trade war on the asset pricing models’ effectiveness. Specifically, the trade war casts the effects on the prediction power of economic forces on the expected returns of the Vietnamese stocks. This is the first study to bring light into the investigation of the validity of the APT in the Vietnamese economy in the wake of the trade war.

Therefore, it should not be ignored but instead should be considered when evaluating the performance of Australian stock portfolios and pension funds. This research is aimed at identifying and examining house price determinants at a local level to understand why house prices vary across different locations and the factors influencing such price differentiation. This research has adopted explanatory mixed research methods (QUAN -> QUAL) where quantitative analysis is used in the first stage to examine the Melbourne housing market and its performance at different levels. The research found there were certain periods where local house prices do not perform in line with either country, city or other local housing markets.

Pricing and guessing the right prices are vital for both hosts and renters on homesharing plat-form from internet based companies. To contribute the growing interest and immense literatureon applying Artificial Intelligence on predicting rental prices, this paper attempts to build ma-chine learning models for that purpose using the Luxstay listings in Hanoi. R2 score is used as the main criterion for the model performance and the results show that Extreme GradientBoostings (XGB) is the model with the best performance with R2= 0.

The panel vector auto regression model is estimated using three main variables related to with profitability, financial liquidity, and financial leverage for 94 manufacturing companies from 2000 to 2017 in Indonesia. The aim is to examine the impact of oil price shocks on the ROA (profitability), CR (financial liquidity), and DER (financial leverage). The impulse reaction function of samples reveals some remarkable results. First, the response of ROA, DER, and CR appears to be consistent in many ways. Second, either Brent oil or WTI oil gives the same result for these variables.

In this paper, employ asymmetric multivariate GARCH approaches to examine their performance on the volatility interactions between global crude oil prices and seven major stock market indices. Insofar as volatility spillover across these markets is a crucial element for portfolio diversification and risk management, we also examine the optimal weights and hedge ratios for oil-stock portfolio holdings with respect to the results.
