An experiment was carried out to study the effect of pre drying treatments (steam blanching and organic acids) on production of quality dry flowers in carnation cv. Harvey during the year 2014 at College of Horticulture, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad.

Keeping in view the above points, the present study on dehydration of carnation flowers was carried out with the objective of evaluating different drying methods for production of better quality carnation flowers with borax + silica gel (1:1, v/v) mixture as the embedding medium.

The production potential of root vegetables depends on many factors, amongst them; plant growth regulators appreciably influence the growth, yield and quality of produce. They play an important role in producing high value root vegetables and increasing the yield. They promote root growth, increase the number of flowers, fruit size and induce early and uniform fruit ripening. Foliar application of plant growth regulators is reported to improve tuber yield, dry matter and quality characters like starch, total sugars and beta carotene content.

A field experiment was conducted to study the effect of different levels and two methods of sulphur application on growth parameters of quality protein maize (QPM) at College farm, Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University, Hyderabad, during 2014-2015 using factorial randomized block design (FRBD) with three replications and eight combinations as four different sulphur levels (10 kg ha-1 , 20 kg ha-1 , 30 kg ha-1 and 40 kg ha-1 ) and two methods of sulphur application (M1: 100% basal as single dose; M2: Two split applications: 50% each at basal and knee heigh stage).

The crop phenology, growth and productivity are strongly influenced by changing the cropping season. The kharif (June-Oct.) is the major groundnut- growing season. The CGR is higher in kharif crop than rabi season crop, but the average per day dry matter production is similar in both the seasons. Flowering and fruiting, in groundnut, are of an indeterminate type, which generally has an effect on yield and quality. Ideal type of groundnut would be one that sets all its young fruits within 4-5 days and spends the rest of the growing season filling them.

Increased productivity of dry chilli with appreciable fruit quality is the present need in major growing areas to promote export from our country. The present investigation was undertaken to identify important selection indices, and to analyze the genetic divergence of collected germplasm for identification of diverse parents for spice chilli hybridization program. Different components of genetic variability for 15 growth and yield component traits were determined employing 45 genotypes evaluated in autumn-winter season of 2015-16 in Randomized Block Design with three replications.

The study was carried out at the experimental farm of the Department of Floriculture and Landscape Architecture, Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan. The data was taken for four flushes, that is, Flush I (November, 2017), Flush II (April, 2018), Flush III (June, 2018) and Flush IV (August, 2018). The cultivars selected for the experiment were Avalanche, Confetti, Corvette, First Red, Gavanna, Gold Strike, Hollywood, Nobelesse, Peach Avalanche, Sweet Avalanche, Taj Mahal and Tineke.
