To describe some clinical characteristics of adult patients with closed proximal humerus fracture (PHF), treated by osteosynthesis method with locking plate. Subjects and methods: Adult patients who were closed PHF treated by open reduction and locking plate fixation at Military hospital 175. Report of a retrospective study conducted on 42 clinical cases.

A 30-year-old woman with chondrosarcoma of the left proximal humerus was treated by humeral head replacement with wrapping reconstruction of the rotator cuff after resection. The dissected tendons of the rotator cuff were each sutured to the stump of the long head of the biceps brachii tendon.

The purpose is based on anatomical basis, combined with three-dimensional measurement, to guide the clinical repositioning of proximal humeral fractures, select the appropriate pin entry point and angle, and simulate surgery.

Understanding the profile of different upper extremity fractures, particularly those presenting as a 1st incident can inform prevention and management strategies. The purpose of this population-level study was to describe frst incident fractures of the upper extremity in terms of fracture characteristics and demographics.

Proximal humerus fracture (PHF) complications, whether following surgery or nonoperative management, require standardization of definitions and documentation for consistent reporting. We aimed to defne an international consensus core event set (CES) of clinically-relevant unfavorable events of PHF to be documented in clinical routine practice and research.

Dynamic-locking-screw (DLS)–leads to less secondary screw perforations in proximal humerus fractures
Loss of reduction and screw perforation causes high failure rates in the treatment of proximal humerus fractures. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the early postoperative complications using modern Dynamic Locking Screws (DLS 3.7) for plating of proximal humerus fractures.

The use of minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO) via anterolateral deltoid splitting has good outcomes in the management of proximal humerus fractures. While using this approach has several advantages, including minimal soft tissue disruption, preservation of natural biology and minimal blood loss, there is an increased risk for axillary nerve damage.

Proximal humerus fractures are a common fragility fracture that significantly affects the independence of older adults. The outcomes of these fractures are frequently disappointing and previous systematic reviews are unable to guide clinical practice.

The ideal method for the surgical treatment of proximal humeral fractures has not yet been found. We therefore conducted a retrospective matched-pair analysis and compared osteosynthesis with open reduction and internal fixation and that with an angular stable plate with minimally invasive, closed reduction, percutaneous fixation with the Humerusblock.

Operative treatment is the standard for severely displaced proximal humerus fractures, but functional impairment can persist. Retaining of the implant can be a reason and in other fracture situations has proved to ameliorate patient satisfaction.

Solitary bone cysts (SBC) are benign, tumor-like lesions, which most frequently occur in the proximal metaphyseal-diaphyseal region of the humerus and femur of children and adolescents. The lack of a clear pathoetiology has impeded the development of treatment strategies.

Treatment of proximal humerus fractures with locking plates is associated with complications. We aimed to compare the biomechanical effects of removing screws and blade of a fixed angle locking plate and hybrid blade plate, on a two-part fracture model.

To identify the optimal viewing angles for every proximal screw in PHILOS plate-fixed proximal humeral fractures. Methods: Three fresh-frozen human cadaveric bodies with six intact shoulders were studied. All three bodies were put in the beach chair position and PHILOS plates were placed on the proximal humerus. Head screws penetrating 1 mm into the joint were fitted one by one.
