Pomegranate is commercially propagated by cuttings. Use of optimum concentration of IBA, type of cutting and optimum rooting media would help in rapid multiplication of pomegranate cuttings. The success percent of pomegranate cuttings depends on many factors such as conditions of the mother plant, rainfall, time of operation, temperature fluctuation, aftercare etc.

Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) is one of the important fruit crop of arid and semiarid regions of the world belongs to family Punicaceae. This fruit crop is often cross pollinated, genetically heterozygous and appropriate natural variation is present. Traits like reducing the size of the plant in order to increase orchard plant density, selecting self fertile genotypes to maintain a higher consistent yield over time and selecting genotypes with higher nutritional value of the fruit are important for ideotype plant in pomegranate.

Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) belongs to the family Punicaceae and it is one of the favourite table fruits in the world, due to its refreshing juice with nutritional and medicinal properties. It is obvious that changes in the level of endogenous hormones due to biotic and abiotic stress alter the crop growth and any sort of manipulation including exogenous application of growth substances would help for yield improvement.

Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers were used to evaluate genetic similarity and phylogenetic relationship among ten pomegranate cultivars. 14 decamer primers of OPF series were selected, produced a total of 114 bands; some species or cultivar specific bands were also obtained using RAPD markers. The number of amplified DNA bands varied between 3 (primer OPF-12) and 11 (primer OPF 3 and OPF 6).
