Quality of FDI inflows

The study was conducted to assess the impact of FDI inflows on investment activities of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Research results show a crowding out effect of FDI inflows, which implies that localities need to focus on the quality of FDI inflows instead of quantity. In addition, the study also considers the impact of internal factors of SMEs, Bayesian regression results show that the size of SMEs, SMEs with e-commerce activities tend to promote investment activities; while the number of years of operation of the business has a negative impact on this activity.

The research "Mutual influence between localities in the red river delta region in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI)" results show that: market size, labor quality, labor costs, road infrastructure, the enterprise convergence level, urbanization, quality of economic governance have has a direct effect on attracting FDI inflows to each locality. In addition, labor quality, road infrastructure, enterprise convergence level of a locality also affect neighboring localities in attracting FDI.

Based on that, the study gives some recommendations of an "open" orientation to attract quality FDI inflows in the coming time for localities with a sustainable development orientation for Hung Yen province.

This paper investigates the impact of foreign direct investment (FDI) and corruption on the environmental pollution in Tunisia over the period 1984- 2014 by applying an autoregressive distributed lag model. Our results revealed the existence of Environmental Kuznets Curve in Tunisian case. The pollution haven hypothesis postulates that polluting industrial activity in developed countries is shifting to developing countries with less stringent environmental regulations. This hypothesis has been proved. Hence, this study advises to make more aware to the negative effect of corruption.

This paper investigates the linkages between natural resources, institutional quality and FDI, and the interaction impact of natural resources and institutional quality on FDI. It argues that countries highly ranked with respect to institutional quality tend to do better in attracting FDI.
