Neuromuscular and vascular hamartoma (NMVH) is a benign and rare lesion comprising abnormal proliferation of cellular elements in the mucosa of the small intestine. NMVH shares certain histological features with inflammatory conditions like Crohn’s disease, radiation and ischemic enteritis, and has been a part of ongoing debate since it was first described in 1982.

Effective preconditioning of neutron diffusion problems is necessary for the development of efficient DSA schemes for neutron transport problems. This paper uses P-multigrid techniques to expand two preconditioners designed to solve the MIP diffusion neutron diffusion equation with a discontinuous Galerkin (DG-FEM) framework using first-order elements.

Beta Dose Rate heterogeneity is a recognized source of uncertainty when applying luminescence dating to heterogeneous samples, such as coarse crystalline rocks and clast-rich sediments. Simulations have shown that a combination of a heterogeneous distribution of minerals and radioactive elements can lead to complex dose distributions, overdispersion and potentially to bias in equivalent dose determinations.

The possibility of using Latin squares for constructing two-dimensional nonequidistant antenna arrays that can be used for development of radio telescopes and systems for remote sensing of atmospheric and lithospheric radiation has been shown. An algorithm for calculating the coordinates of elements of a non-equidistant antenna array using the values of elements of Latin squares is proposed.

Post-transcriptional regulation is crucial for the control of eukaryotic gene expression and might contribute to adaptive divergence. The three prime untranslated regions (3’ UTRs), that are located downstream of protein-coding sequences, play important roles in post-transcriptional regulation. These regions contain functional elements that influence the fate of mRNAs and could be exceptionally important in groups such as rapidly evolving cichlid fishes.

In this paper, a multiple-input multipleoutput (MIMO) antenna with high isolation is designed using defected ground structure (DGS). The proposed antenna is constructed by two sets of four elements (2 × 2), which are designed at the central frequency of 3.5 GHz for Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) applications. The antenna is fabricated on a FR4 substrate with an overall size of 144 × 99 × 1.6 mm. Thanks to DGS, the designed MIMO antenna achieves a high isolation of 30 dB and a high radiation efficiency of over 90%. Besides, this MIMO antenna attains a 7.5 dBi gain.

This paper contributes an efficient denoising method for low-dose CT images. A noisy image is decomposed into three component images of low, medium and high frequency bands; noise is mainly presented in the medium and high component images. Then, by exploiting the fact that a small image patch of the noisy image can be approximated by a linear combination of several elements in a given dictionary of noise-free image patches generated from noise-free images taken at nearly the same position with the noisy image, noise in these medium and high component images are effectively eliminated.

In this paper, a novel antenna array at 5GHz is presented with a low sidelobe level and wide impedance bandwidth for indoor positioning applications . The antenna array has the size of 450 ×57×0.8 mm3 with the high gain of 14.5dBi and the low SLL of -18 dB at 5GHz. The sesier feed using Unequal Split T-Junction is proposed with the Chebyshev-amplitude distribution to improve SLL. Besides the 1800 phase and amplitude distribution, by deploying driven elements above each single antenna element, the radiation pattern and the gain of the antenna aray are significantly improved.

This paper reports on the synthesis and characterisation of Dy2 O3 -doped magnesium borate (MB) glasses containing different modifiers, lithium, calcium, and sodium oxides. Glasses composed of (70-z)B2 O3 -20Li2 O; CaO; Na2 O-10MgO-zDy2 O3 (where 0.05≤z≤0.7 mol%) were prepared using the melt-quenching method. X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern of the as-quenched samples verified their amorphous character. Differential thermal analysis (DTA) confirmed excellent glass-forming ability and thermal stability in the range of 0.60-0.67 and 0.18- 0.82, respectively.

The article describes the results of experiments conducted on pigs to determine the effect of plutonium, which is the most radiotoxic and highly active element in the range of mixed fuel (U0.8Pu0.2)O2 fission products, on living organisms. The results will allow empirical prediction of the emergency plutonium radiation dose for various organs and tissues of humans in case of an accident in a reactor running on mixed fuel (U0.8Pu0.2)O2.

The methodology uses measured values of intraelement isotope ratios of plutonium and fission product contaminants. MCNP radiation transport codes were used for various reactor core modeling and fuel burnup simulations. A reactor-dependent library of intra-element isotope ratio values as a function of burnup and time since irradiation was created from the simulation results.

According to the antenna theory, a linear antenna and an electric dipole are the two different concepts. An electric dipole is the primary radiation element with simple characteristics, and a linear antenna is an antenna commonly used in telecommunication systems of which properties depends on the size.
