Raman scattering results

Silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) were synthesized and characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), and absorption spectroscopy. Using Debye-Scherrer’s formula and the result of the XRD spectrum, the size of the Ag NPs was estimated at approximately 8 nm.

The shift in Raman and change in absorption spectra are evidence that would relate to the structure change or disorder and impurity in the samples. From the above results, a critical substituent content at which the structural phase change takes place is shown.

Physical measurement dimensions, such as temperature or pressure and tensile forces, can affect glass fibres and locally change the characteristics of light transmission in the fibre. As a result of the damping of the light in the quartz glass fibres through scattering, the location of an external physical effect can be determined so that the optical fibre can be employed as a linear sensor. Light scattering, also known as Raman scattering, occurs in the optical fibre.
