To study the distribution of soil enzyme urease in some of the vegetables growing soils of Ranga Reddy District of Telangana State, as Ranga Reddy district is near to metropolitan city Hyderabad and most of the farmers are involved in growing vegetables and are supplying to the nearby city to various vegetable markets present nearby. Soil enzyme activity is influenced by physico- chemical properties on soil enzyme.

Physico- chemical properties of soil have profound influence on soil enzyme acid phosphatases activity. To study the distribution of soil enzyme acid phosphatase and influence of physico- chemical properties on soil enzyme acid phosphatases activity forty soil samples were collected from different villages of Ranga Reddy district of Telangana state. These samples were analysed for the physicochemical properties like pH, EC, available nutrients, texture and organic carbon and soil enzyme activity was assayed.

Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana is a State Plan Scheme of Additional Central Assistance launched in August 2007 as a part of the 11th Five Year Plan by the Government of India under National Development Council, to achieve 4% annual growth in agriculture through development of Agriculture and its allied sectors. A fund of Rs 4,09090/- was allocated to DAATTC, Ranga Reddy PJTSAU during 2012-2014 for organizing onfarm testing, Farmers training programmes and exposure visits. Farmers of Ranga Reddy District cultivate rice in a larger area as major food crop.

The present study was conducted in Maheswarammandal of Ranga Reddy district, Telangana. A total of 120 farm women who engaged in farming were selected through purposive random sampling technique. The results revealed that majority (53.33%) of the farm women belonged to the age group of young age i.e., 18-35 years were married (86.67%) and 31.67% had completed their high school education and farm women were having below 10 years of work experience (38.33%).
