Management of a patient’s body temperature is an important aspect of care that should be addressed by targeted temperature management (TTM). Often, non-invasive methods like forced-air blankets are used. Especially in the operating room this management may be a subsidiary and repetitive task requiring constant observation of the patient’s body temperature and adaption using the limited set of available settings.

Microswitches have been used for many different applications in building, automation, and security due to requiring little force. A novel design of a triple-stepped beam structure for a mechanical bistable microswitch is presented, and it was found that the bistability of the beam can be achieved by applying an electrostatic force which allows a high deflection with small electrode separation. A finite element method analysis has been used to design the bistable microswitch in a certain range of geometries based on the standard of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC).

The main goal of this paper is to propose automatic schemes for the translation paired comparison method. This method was proposed to precisely evaluate a speech translation system's capability. Furthermore, the method gives an objective evaluation result, i.e., a score of the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC). The TOEIC score is used as a measure of one's speech translation capability. However, this method requires tremendous evaluation costs. Lexicons can be generated using non-parallel corpora or a pivot language, but such lexicons are noisy. In the method of creating digital terrain model (DTM) by using digital photogrammetry, the picket sampling interval (PSI) plays an important role since it strongly influences on the production effectiveness and on the accuracy of created DTMs. The optimal value of PSI must be balanced between requirements of effectiveness and of accuracy. This research is focused on the influence of PSI on root mean square error (RMSE) of created DTM and on the number of error pickets (caused by limitation of image matching technique) that must be checked and corrected manually.
