Respect to dairy industry

Biofilm formation possesses profound implications and throws a major challenge to the dairy sector where they act as the principal reservoir of microbial contamination. These lead to financial crisis by impairment of raw material and its products. It is emphasized that god manufacturing practice, good hygienic practice and hazard analysis and critical control point should be implement in dairy industry to prevent the contamination of dairy products.

In dairy industry whey is a by-product during the manufacture of coagulated milk products such as paneer, channa, casein etc. Bioactive peptides produced by the fermentation of the whey have various biofunctional properties. The ACE inhibitory activity of cultured buttermilk prepared by addition of 40% fermented whey (RT3), 30% fermented whey (RT4) and control (RT5) were found to be 69.24, 64.50 and 57.63 per cent respectively.

Diarrhoea is one of the most important problem causing great economic loss to dairy industry by drastic reduction in milk production. The present study was carried out in cattle reared at different organized dairy farms in and around Durg to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of synbiotics along with antibiotic in diarrhoeic cattle. A total of 18 cattle were selected and divided into three groups. Group I (n=6) served as normal healthy control whereas group (n=6) II and III were diarrhoeic cattle.
