Ebook "Iron nutrition in plants and rhizospheric microorganisms" provides comprehensive reviews on topics of plant-iron nutrition that are being addressed by different laboratories around the world. As one can see, the area of plant-iron nutrition is highly interdisciplinary, involving scientists of various fields of knowledge. Plant biologists are needed to characterize iron translocation throughout the plant following root iron uptake and to examine the regulation of iron-stimulated activities that influence crop yield and quality.

In this research, soybean was planted in soil collected from the Red River Delta of Vietnam to test two hypotheses: (i) drought reduces rhizosphere enzyme activities and hampers the extent of the high enzyme activity along single root (from the root tips), and (ii) the turnover time of substrate by enzymes increases with decreasing soil moisture.

In this study, 8 diazotrophic strains were isolated from rhizosphere soils and root nodules of legume and non-legume plants in Vietnam. Five of the eight isolates showed noticeable nitrogen fixation capability as determined via acetylene reduction assay, from 3.11 to 17.9 nmol/mL/h.

Biocontrol of stem end disease agent, Alternaria alternata YZU, on pitaya is more interested in altering the application of chemical pesticides. This study was conducted to characterize antagonistic phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB) from rhizosphere soil for their biocontrol activities against A. alternata YZU under laboratory and greenhouse conditions.

Stem end rot is the most destructive disease caused by Alternaria alternata YZU in pitayagrowing regions of Vietnam. This study was conducted to characterize antagonistic phosphatesolubilizing bacteria (PSB) from rhizosphere soil for their biocontrol activities against A. alternata YZU and evaluate the effect of temperature, pH, and water activity on that antagonism.

Antibiotics are disseminated by grazing animals or their feces throughout agricultural areas. These antibiotics, as environmental pollutants, have a negative impact on plant growth and physiology. Sulfonamides are frequently used to protect livestock production, but they also have a considerable negative impact on plant growth and rhizospheric bacteria. Plants are sensitive to their surroundings, and they employ their internal biological systems to deal with the threats to their growth and development.

Microorganisms in the rhizosphere soil play a key role in maintaining the soil fertility, which is a key for successful crop production to meet the increasing global food demand. The aims of this study were to boost growth attributes, yield and nutrient uptake of rice by different treatment combination of plant growth promoting bacteria (PGPB) and NPK fertilizer doses.

The soil environment is responsible for sustaining most terrestrial plant life, yet we know surprisingly little about the important functions carried out by diverse microbial communities in soil. Soil microbes that inhabit the channels of decaying root systems, the detritusphere, are likely to be essential for plant growth and health, as these channels are the preferred locations of new root growth.

Extensive use of synthetic fertilizer to maximize the productivity often leads to depletion of essential soil nutrients, environmental degradation and adversely affects soil rhizosphere microbiota. The present study investigates the efficacy of Trichoderma and biochar co-application on tomato productivity, nutritional quality and soil health improvements under reduced N-P-K fertilizer application.

This study aimed to isolate and identify different Enterococcus spp. from diverse sources including dromedary raw milk, rhizospheric soil and natural saline water samples and to determine their antimicrobial activities and safety aspects. From these sources, distinct strains of E. faecium, E. durans, E. hirae, and E. gallinarum species were detected.

Fungal and bacterial rhizosphere microbiome associated with selected melon and snake melon genotypes
The total bacterial population in the rhizosphere of ten melon and two snake melon genotypes was significantly 59 to 68% higher than control soil. For most tested genotypes, a significant increase in the culturable rhizospheric actinomycetes, about 28.5 to 92.6%, was recorded comparatively to control soil. Fungal population counts in the rhizosphere of tested genotypes were significantly comparable to control.

In the present study, microalgal biomass (Anabeana circinalis and Scenedesmus quadricauda) was used as biofertilizer in cucumber cultivation. The response of cucumber growth characters to microalgal biofertilizer was evaluated. Moreover, rhizosphere microbial diversity and community composition of cucumber was analyzed through 16S rRNA high-throughput Illumina sequencing data. The results showed that microalgal biomass as biofertilizer significantly promoted height, number of leaves and flower buds, and stem diameter of cucumber. The application of a high concentration of S.

In the present study it was aimed to obtain novel strains of actinomycetes that have the ability to promote plant growth. For this, seven soil samples from the rhizosphere of Humulus lupulus (Pazaryeri, Bilecik) were used and potential isolates were obtained. 16S rRNA genes of 30 isolates were amplified by PCR and sequenced. Eighteen isolates were found to be closely related to Streptomycetes spp. and they were tested for their proteolytic activity, cellulase activity, phosphate solubility, IAA production, biofilm formation, and growth in nitrogen-limited medium.

Microorganisms are not only indispensable to ecosystem functioning, they are also keystones for emerging technologies. Investigation of metabarcoding data should be done with care. Correct biological interpretation depends on several factors, including in-depth sequencing of the samples, choice of the most appropriate filtering strategy for the specific research goal, and use of family level for data clustering.
