Rhizospheric strains isolated
-
In this study, 8 diazotrophic strains were isolated from rhizosphere soils and root nodules of legume and non-legume plants in Vietnam. Five of the eight isolates showed noticeable nitrogen fixation capability as determined via acetylene reduction assay, from 3.11 to 17.9 nmol/mL/h.

The rhizosphere microorganisms can form beneficial, pathogenic, or neutral relationships. These relationships can promote plant growth and productivity. Among them, a number of Variovorax isolates from the rhizosphere were isolated. Bacteria Variovorax strain C6d (AB552893) was isolated from the non axenic culture of Chlorella spp., C6.

In the present study it was aimed to obtain novel strains of actinomycetes that have the ability to promote plant growth. For this, seven soil samples from the rhizosphere of Humulus lupulus (Pazaryeri, Bilecik) were used and potential isolates were obtained. 16S rRNA genes of 30 isolates were amplified by PCR and sequenced. Eighteen isolates were found to be closely related to Streptomycetes spp. and they were tested for their proteolytic activity, cellulase activity, phosphate solubility, IAA production, biofilm formation, and growth in nitrogen-limited medium.

Fusarium wilt is a soil-borne disease, which negatively affects the lentil crop widespread in India and affecting the lentil crop productivity. So the present study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of bioagents against wilt pathogen Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.lentis of lentil crop through antagonistic activity. Rhizospheric strains were isolated from wilt affected lentil plant in different regions of Eastern UP like Faizabad, Mau, Varanasi, Ghazipur. A total of 20 bacterial strains were isolated and tested for antagonistic activity by co-culture m

Actinomycetes have got considerable attention worldwide due to the production of many useful bioactive metabolites. In the present study, the antimicrobial potential of novel Actinomycetes has been evaluated by the initial screening of seven rhizosphere samples in Egypt. The primary and secondary screening were performed against Bacillus cereus (ATCC33018), and E.coli O157 (ATCC93111) as model strains of Gram positive and Gram negative species, respectively.

These chitinase-producing bacterial strains were tested for antagonistic activity against the causal agent of bulb and stem rots of lilies, Fusarium oxysporum, and the results indicated antifungal activity of the four strains HP02, VRQ9, HM03, and GL10. The HP02 strain had the highest level of chitinase activity and was capable of being antagonistic to Fusarium oxysporum. Based on morphological and biochemical characteristics, 16S rRNA gene sequencing, and phylogenetic analysis of this sequence along with sequences from GenBank, HP02 was identified as Bacillus subtilis.

Combination of Rhizobium and Trichoderma species were studied to document their compatibility their synergism, antagonism under in vitro condition and their effects on the growth of lentil in vivo condition. In respect this, few strains of Trichoderma were isolated from the rhizosphere soil of Pulse crop from different locations of West Bengal and they were tested in vitro and in vivo along with Rhizobium to know the interaction between them and the growth behaviour on lentil.

Finding solutions to global issues like food security entails greater use of chemicals fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides etc. posing serious risks of soil salinity, heavy metal bioaccumulation. PGPR produce enzyme ACC deaminase which degrades (ACC) 1- aminocyclopropane-1-carobylic acid the immediate precursor of the plant growth hormone ethylene, into α-ketobutyrate and ammonia, thus lowering the level of ethylene in a developing or stressed plant. In the present study, three rhizobacterial strains were isolated from rhizospheric soil of mustard plant in Allahabad region.

Wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporium f. spciceris is a devastating disease of chickpea. It occurs in 2 stages; seedling stage (0-30%) and reproductive stage (0-57%). Annual chickpea yield loss due to Fusarium wilt was estimated to be 10% in India. So, our objective is to control chickpea wilt disease by using Trichoderma based biofilms as an alternative to chemical fungicides. Trichoderma viride is a potential antagonistic fungi which prevents diseases like wilt, brown rot, damping off, charcoal rot etc.

In this study, eleven soil samples were collected from Terai zone of West Bengal. The Azotobacter were isolated by serial dilution method from each sample in specific Azotobacter agar (Mannitol) and incubated at 28±2 °C for 48 hour than kept in refrigerator. The best strains of Azotobacter were evaluated by in-vitro and in-vivo screening. The highest population and nitrogen fixation ability was recorded in rhizosphere soil of Mathura tea garden designated as UBAZ-5 (7.3x109 ). UBAZ-5 was also found significantly superior in physical characteristics of chilli plant. The shoot length (12.

A field experiment was performed in the agriculture field of Departmernt of Horticulture in SHUATS, Allahabad to study the effect of bacterial and fungal biofertilizers on vegetative and yield attributing parameters of Cauliflower (Brassica oleracea botrytis) plant under citrus orchard. Bacterial biofertilizers included phosphorus solubilising microbes (bacteria and fungus) PSB1, PSF1 and potassium solubilising microbes KSB2 and KSF2 which were isolated from the rhizospheric region of vegetable crops. The strains were screened by employing qualitative plating techniques.

A total number of 10 rhizosperic bacteria were isolated from root environment of some healthy plants of a drastic diseased field with massive blighted symptoms of Trichosanthes dioica of Akilpur of Hooghly district, West Bengal (22.94º E 88.12º N) where soil is alluvial in nature. Among the isolates, one strain TR9 showed remarkable plant growth promoting activity. Cell free culture filtrate of TR9 produced clear zones of inhibition (diameter ranging from 1.67cm to 2.67cm) against different plant pathogenic fungi viz.

The knowledge concerning the behavior of these Bacilli as antagonists and genetic analysis is essential for their effective use and the commercialization. The present study was focused on the analysis of the genetic diversity of rhizobacterial isolates of Bacillus using PCR based RAPD technique and selection of best biocontrol antifungal Bacillus strain with aflatoxin producing Aspergillus by antagonism on PDA medium. About 16 different strains of bacteria were isolated from healthy and infested rhizosphere of groundnut using N-agar medium.

Natural pigments were obtained and utilized from plants, insects and ores in prehistoric period and it has been over ruled by the synthetic dyes and pigments, inspite of its vast array of disadvantages to the ecosystem. The demand for natural pigments has triggered the researchers to look for an alternative approach, which could replace the synthetic pigments. Microorganisms such as algae, fungi, actinomycetes and bacteria play an interesting role in the world of colors with their chromogenecity.
