Micronutrients are not only essential for plant growth and development but are also integral to human health. Fe and Zn deficiencies cause serious nutritional problems in human beings. Increasing the micronutrient content of grain by bio-fortification offers great potential to combat micronutrient deficiency and dramatically impact human health. To find out the most suitable and profitable method of bio-fortification in aromatic rice with Zinc and Iron, a field experiment was conducted during kharif, 2019 at the Research Farm, Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhagalpur.

A field experiment was conducted during 2013-14 at Agricultural Experimental Farm of Calcutta University at Baraipur, 24-Paraganas (south), Kolkata to study the effect of micronutrient on yield and yield attributes of hybrid rice under boro cultivation in lower gangetic alluvial zone. NPK (40/120:60:60) + ZnSO4 + Ammonium molybdate + Disodium-tetrahydrateoctaborate as foliar application at active tillering stage and panicle initiation stage respectively of hybrid rice crop growth have profound influence on the yield parameters such as grain yield (6.54t/ha), straw yield (6.

A survey was conducted on Swarna cultivar (MTU 7029) of rice during Kharif 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 at Nadia district of West Bengal to record the fungal disease and their respective yield loss. Ten diseases (Leaf blast, Sheath blight, Sheath rot, Brown spot, Brown Leaf Spots caused by Curvularia lunata, Stackburn disease, Leaf spot caused by Nigrospora oryzae, Stem rot, Rotting by Choanephora cucurbitarum and False smut) were based on visual observation on Swarna rice cultivar and yield loss due to respective disease was calculated by measuring test weight (gm) of rice grains.

The crop yield should be limited by the available nitrogen within the soil. Yoshida (1972) reported that nitrogen plays an important role in developing yield capacity and maintaining the photosynthetic activity during grain filling stage of the crop. Nitrogen application can improve the root system, so that water and nutrient absorption are facilitated.

An experiment was conducted during 2015 rabi season in a green house, Faculty of Agriculture, BCKV, Mohanpur, West Bengal to evaluate the influence of organic and inorganic amendments on phosphorus dynamics in relation to growth and yield of rice (cv. Shatabdi) in an Alfisol soil. Rhizosphere soil samples collected from pots during tillering, flowering and harvesting stages of rice were analyzed for available phosphorus.

Rice (Oryza sativa) is the most important staple food crop in India. It ranks second in worldwide production. An anatomical and physiological character of surface of the rice leaf renders a sustainable environment for diversity of phylloplane microorganisms that showed antagonism against rice pathogens. The objective of this present study was to identify and characterize the bacterial population in the phylloplane of rice at different critical stages.

Conidial germination, appressoria formation and penetration are most important stages of infection process in rice blast pathogen i.e. Magnaporthe oryzae, and temperature rise due to climate change is expected to change infection process of pathogen. Temperature has significant influenced on all components of infection process i.e. conidial germination, appressoria formation, germ tube growth. All the components of infection process are higher at optimal temperature (27°C) as compared to both suboptimal (22°C) and supraoptimal (32°C) temperatures for M. oryzae.

A field experiment was conducted during rabi season of 2017-18 at Instructional cum Research Farm, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishvavidhyalaya, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Utera or paira cropping (relay cropping) is age old double cropping system under the rainfed conditions in which succeeding utera crop is directly broadcasted in the standing rice crop after the flowering stage (Sharma et al., 2004). Fieldpea are a valuable source of protein for both man and animals.

Seed germination and seedling establishment are most vital stages in plant growth cycle, playing major role in determining the final density of plants. In drought prone areas, poor seed germination and seedling emergence are the major problems. Seed priming is known to improve germination and seedling emergence under different environmental stresses. Salicylic acid (SA) also plays a major role in regulation of many physiological processes e.g. growth, development, ion absorption and germination of plants.

The available water decreases as world demand for water increases for various purposes such as industrial, agriculture hydropower. To improve the water use efficiency, there is a need to modify traditional irrigation scheduling. In the present study, the CROPWAT model was used to estimation the irrigation scudding for rice and cotton crop to improve water use efficiency. From the analysis, it was found that reference evapotranspiration was almost directly proportional to the radiation and sunshine hours and inversely proportional to the relative humidity.

Global warming and soil salinity drastically reduced the productivity of cereals including wheat which is the most important food crop next to rice. A laboratory experiment was conducted with three replications to screen forty six winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) genotypes for individual salinity and high temperature stress and their combined effect at germination and early seedling growth stage.

Low light is one of the most important environmental factors that determine the basic characteristics of rice growth and development. The selected twenty five adopted varieties are grown in Kharif 2016 under both normal and low light condition. The result were found that biochemical parameters such as grain starch content and total carbohydrate content (TCC) was decreased under low light condition and, nitrogen content in leaf was increased at flowering stage, protein content in grain was also affected by low light as well as grain yield and quality of rice.
