A field experiment was conducted during Kharif season of 2018 in Alfisols to study grain yield of hybrid rice varieties as influenced integrated nutrient management. Results revealed that V1 (IRH-103) found significantly highest N, P and K contain in grain and straw of than V2 (IRH-111) and in different nutrient management N5 (150% RDF through inorganic) was observed significantly higher N, P and K contain in grain and straw.

To develop fertilizer prescription equation for rice, a field experiment was conducted on an inceptisol of farmer‟s field at Arachikuppam village, Puducherry during 2015 by using integrated plant nutrient management system on the basis of STCR approach. The rice grain and straw yield was significantly increased with the soil test values and fertilizer doses of N, P and K. Based on the experiment, the nutrient requirement for producing 1 quintal of rice grain was 1.46 kg of N, 0.60 kg of P2O5 and 1.12 kg of K2O, respectively.

Rice residues are important natural resources, and recycling of these residues improves the soil physical, chemical and biological properties. Management of rice straw is a major challenge as it is considered to be a poor feed for the animals due to high silica content. A field experiment was conducted at Agricultural Research Station, Bhavanisagar during 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 to review the suitable rice residue management practices and nutrient dynamics by using combine harvester operated rice field after cultivating rice.

A field experiment was conducted during kharif season at Rajendra Agricultural University, Pusa to assess the residual impact of conjoint use of organics and chemical fertilizers on yield and nutrients uptake of wheat under rice-wheat system. Results revealed that among the organics, FYM 10 t ha-1 application, produced highest grain yield (36.38 q ha-1 ) followed by Straw (32.84 q ha-1 ), Dhaincha (GM) (28.93q ha-1 ) and Urd (27.61 q ha-1).

This disease is more prevalent in winter months mostly in the rice growing parts of India. Mostly younger buffaloes are more frequently affected than cattle. The disease cause general malaise, edema of the extremities, general wasting with necrosis and sloughing of the epidermis. The possibilities of mycotoxins produced from the wheat straw, dry grass or sorghum hay might be the one of the reason for this condition. The condition is usually a febrile and limits the movements of the affected animals due to painful condition of the legs.

Rice crop accounts for nearly a third of the total area under food grains in India and is the staple food for a significant portion of the world‟s population. Widely varying factors influence the growth of rice in different rice growing areas and render the crop susceptible to various pathogenic and non-pathogenic diseases, resulting in extensive damage of grain and straw yield. Bacterial leaf blight disease of rice caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) is a serious menace to rice production in India, besides other rice producing countries.

High yield potentiality of summer rice motivates farmers in West Bengal to grow rice even in summer season. Summer rice receives few fold higher irrigation over other aerable crops. Farmers of this area irrigate 1300-1400 mm water for summer rice. In Nadia district of West-Bengal during summer season, the main source of irrigation water is ground water which contains high amount (0.098-0.345 mgL-1 ) of arsenic which is responsible for higher arsenic concentration in grain and straw.

Results revealed that the significant higher grain and straw yield were recorded with nutrients applied through SSNM approach (7,358 and 10,674 kg ha-1 , respectively) as compare to other treatments. Further, omission of major nutrients has resulted in yield loss of 56 per cent (-N), 16.5 per cent (-P) and 20 per cent (-K) compared to SSNM treatment. Application of fertilizers as per SSNM approach noticed higher nitrogen and phosphorus use efficiency (94.05 and 49.
