The farmers must pay for each hectare from IDR 56,000 (minimum) to IDR 161,600 (maximum) with an average value of IDR 110,750.Meanwhile,the standard deviation principle used, the premium results between IDR 78,151 and IDR 143,349.

  • The present study was conducted to map Katarni rice value chain in the Bhagalpur, Banka and Munger district of Bihar. Arandom sample of 90 Katarni rice growers, 30 non-Katarni rice growers and 30 market intermediaries were interviewed and number of focused group for discussion were held.   • Starches from the wheat (UP262, PBW343), rice (PB2, PD19) and millets (Finger millet VL Mandua-352, Barnyard millet VL Madira-207, Foxtail millet DHFT-109-3) were isolated by alkali extraction method and characterized for morphologically and biochemical properties. The morphological properties of starch granules were studied by scanning electron microscope. The infrared spectroscopy is sensitive to structural changes on starch macromolecule, such as helicoidal chain conformation, crystallinity, retrogradation and water content.
